I need to get a list together and start buy parts little here big part there that way the boss isn't trying to kill me

I want to thank all of the posters who participated in this drive shaft discussion. It was completely entertaining; we argued, we laughed, we cried, and we laughed again, but most of all we have learned.

Well, I don't know what you've learned here but, I am glad to hear that you were entertained

One has to wonder why someone that produces as many driveshafts as TW does with the name he has established to go from Spicer ujoints to some mystery u joint. Unfortunately people become victims of their success and start to do certain things strategically from either dealing with a shitty economy, to increase cost in raw materials, whatever. You make 10,000 shafts a year, and cut your joint cost by 5 bucks each, that is some serious savings especially if you didn't drop the price of your shaft. Its business. I have personally seen one of those gold seals burn up in very low milage. Maybe bad luck, who knows. But you have to wonder why would you get away from spicer?

LOL!! Well, like I said, I'm glad that you were at least entertained. I do get very frustrated by people who like to shoot off their mouths about things they know nothing about or only know one side of the story and this one just took the cake for me. I hope you can be understanding of the fact that on this one, the record needed to be set straight.

Eddie, you know me well enough that we both do some serious wheeling, with basically what can be considered professional offroaders. We have all made mistakes on parts choices at one time, but the advice I ask of, receive and share with my circle of offroad buddies ( as you are inlcuded) surpasses that of any internet offroad, level 9, ninja, with rock crawl cloaking powers.

I totally agree with you here, one does have to wonder. Not like he couldn't just use a higher quality part right from the get go. There definitely is a lot of money to be made if you can offer a product for the same cost as your competitors and do so while keeping your cost down using more affordable parts. Sure, the warranty he offers is great but, it doesn't do a whole lot of good on the trail.
