Which driveshaft
Eddie, you know me well enough that we both do some serious wheeling, with basically what can be considered professional offroaders. We have all made mistakes on parts choices at one time, but the advice I ask of, receive and share with my circle of offroad buddies ( as you are inlcuded) surpasses that of any internet offroad, level 9, ninja, with rock crawl cloaking powers.
well it's a good thing that I'm a level 10, ninja with rock crawl cloaking powers and turbo boost
Its easy to make a fake email address and create a fake profile to troll!
I think it's all out there to see that WOL has nothing to hide, even posting served legal ppw.
Tom Woods = Capitalist Whore and sell-out from what I've read.

So, when you do a search online for Spicer u-joints, I find it interesting that you can find the following. Granted, it's just a sales brochure but, they do confidently make claims about how you’re buying the highest quality products that provide longer life and less downtime. They back this up by explaining how they employ proprietary techniques, use exceptional design and production, have a patented statistical process control (SPC) manufacturing process that provide tolerances that are more closely controlled creating a tighter fit and resulting in better balance capability, reduced driveline vibration, and lower maintenance costs. In fact, they go on to explain that their u-joints are manufactured to the same high standards as OE parts because they are OE parts. As Spicer boldly claims...
Time after time, Spicer 10 Series™ U-joints outperform all others in competitive testing – particularly when it comes to torsional fatigue capability. Not only are Spicer U-joints stronger than other manufacturers’ competitive products, they are consistently stronger. As the chart below shows, our competition cannot even come close.

Of course, when you do a search for Gold Seal u-joints, all you get is a basic HTML webpage, only on Tom Woods website and all it says is how these u-joints are made to "high industry test standards" and say that they "exceeded manufacturers’ load, life and strength requirements". Of course, he never indicates "what manufacturers" and provides nothing to back up his simple claims.

What I don't get is that these things aren't even cheaper to buy! If they really are about the same price to the consumer and you can't say how they might even be better than what is offered OE from Jeep, I have to think that maybe, the only reason why these u-joints are pushed is because they do a better job of providing a higher profit margin for the vendor at the end of the day.
Again, Spicer is no sponsor of mine and I have nothing to gain from promoting them. Yes, these are just sales slicks but, you can take what you want from it. I know what I've seen on the trail and that's one u-joint tends to fail time and time again and another doesn't.

Man, am I tired. I just read this whole thread and while it was entertaining, I am not sure why I did it. I just got a Coast Drive Shaft for Christmas. Maybe I was procrastinating from doing real work or maybe I just wanted some validation that I didn't choose poorly.
Either way, I have a few observations...
1. How come my Coast drive shaft didn't come with the giant sticker so I could advertise their company and, apparently, my knowledge of good drive shafts?
2. I live in the same area as Eddie, and while we share the same mall, I never ever see him there.
3. I have never spent so much time on a website where the words wood(s), shaft and fu**ing have been used without constantly looking over my shoulder to see if my wife is coming.
4. I think it is hilarious when Eddie gets feisty. I have met him several times and he is one of the most genuinely nice and happy go lucky guys I know.
