If that isnt seated right you will throw a code, had it happen to a friend of mine. Seat the gasket on the canister side and re attach the twist off piece.

I just did mine last week and didnt unhook the battery (wasnt in Woods instructions) and have not had a problem since.

Also make sure you have it turned right side up. It'll give you a bunch of stupid codes and lights if it's upside down.

I had similar and finally added 8 hose clamps to my extensions, one hose was loose after trying to push it over a lip on the can connector and was leaking. All good now, the computer will reset after awhile if the leak is corrected. I got the gascap readout & major and minor leak codes BTW.

same thing happened to me. I bought some hose clamps and placed them on all the connections....no more light
