I'm running the toggle switch disable on my '07 and really enjoy it. It alloys me to get a feel of the terain and have some fun before I NEED 4wd. I am curious as to having the system disabled with the switch and then shifting to 4wd without shutting down and resetting the computer. I haven't tryed this. I'm not sure if there would be any long term issues.

I dont get this. I turn the ESP off with the switch on the dash and the ESP still somewhat works. What is going on?

Do I have to add the switch or will the procedure above fully disengage it?

I am really confused so can someone please help us for 07 models.

Option 1: 4L or maybe 4H press the ESP button for few seconds to switch off the ESP shit. But for some reason the ESP still kicks on muddy trails

Option 2: Add a toggle switch cut the wire to disable the esp/bas/abs etc. Does it kill the esp crap completely and when you get on road just flick the toggle switch and you are back on normal with safe zone any issues with that? Does the computer throws any dTc codes to be cleared

Option 3: Take it to the dealer to reflash or install new program which 08 models have. after that you have to do the steering manuver setup to completely switch off the esp but advantage abs still works. Does it really shut the esp down completely.

So what is the real difference or advantages or disadvantages between the above 3 options or which one is the best and why.

Please experts answer this it will help a lot of us here.

I would go to the dealer for the flash, trail rated should mean just that. Its free (for some) and it doesnt hack up the wires behind the dash.

So does the flash really work. I mean completely shut down the ESP system nothing to worry about?

Yes, you will have to do the steering wheel "dance" to disable it but it works everytime. Also, if you get the right 08 flash it will allow you to kill by just touching the esp button once. I am working on getting my vin and pcm version to allow others to have the same flash.

Great please let us know. My local dealer over here downunder are very good. I called them today and they said no problems just bring in the vehicle and we will reflash your computer. I will ask them if they can reflash with 08 program.

if you have a 08 model you are the lucky one. You dont need the steering dance just press of the button will do the trick. Its us 07 models suffering with bad programing
