Is EVO serious?!?!
This^^^^!
I to like evo products. Even having to deal with trackbar bracket u bolts being an inch short, lift brackets not fitting and poor instuctions.
This type of customer service is unacceptable!
It doesn't matter who is wrong or right. You should always bend over backwards for customers. You charge $120 for your trouble but lose how many thousands of dollars by charging 6% restocking fee on an item that never shipped?
This didn't even happen to me and it's getting me upset.

This is a messy one, I can relate having been on both sides...
My company got 95% of it income from credit cards, and because it was mostly calling and giving us their cc info without having swiped their card the percentage rate was like 3.5%
We did 7 figures in sales, I never even thought of charging anything if someone cancelled, but being that it was a monthly membership for Internet access, we had a policy that the first month was non-refundable...
That policy was printed anywhere applicable and on the new customer form there was a separate check box for the customer service person to check to be certain that the customer was told.
But we rarely enforced that policy.
I have never heard of a credit card processing fee that was 6%.
Depending on the credit card, this should be refunded.
One thing I learned over the years was that Amex virtually never decided on the vendors side.

Short story: placed order at EVO for the new ATX Chamber Pro wheels. Hour later, realized that the wheels don't come with a hub cover like the Slabs do. Confirmed with ATX that one will not be offered "they're off-road only". Since the Jeep is also a road going vehicle, we wanted wheels with a hub cover. No big deal. Who wants to see rusty hubs on their nice Jeep.
Call back and cancel order to decide what to do (likely just getting Slabs instead). Mind you, only a few hours passed and they hadn't been shipped.
Shortly after canceling, they call back and state that they will be charging a 6% fee for running the credit card. Quick math: $120!
Wtf?! They said it's their policy (but it is not stated anywhere, not even on the receipt). Besides that, what decent business would do that? And we were going to order slabs anyway.
Anyone had this experience or did we get the special pissed off sales guy treatment?
For as much EVO stuff as I have owned and as much as I've promoted their products to fellow Jeepers, I think it's total BS.

Holy crap im glad I have never bought anything from EVO that is ridiculous. I have shopped from many venders and occasionally I have had to cancel never have I been charged a cancelation fee and that is what keep me coming back. The jeep modification industry is a huge business 1 person with 1 jeep with spend between $20,000 ~ $40,000 on aftermarket parts now is not the time to quibble over $120 the more people who read this thread will spread the message like cancer and you will loose revenue. EVO you need to step up to the plate and make things right.
So, I just cancelled an order at discount tire direct this Monday. I changed my mind on some tires, called and said exactly that...I changed my mind. They gave me the refund with no questions asked, that's why I will buy from them again and again and again and again and again. EVO dropped the ball on what it takes to get repeat business in my opinion.

am I the only one who was bothered by the fact that his rationale for not purchasing a set of wheels was the lack of a centercap? For a set of beadlocks that would happily get chewed to shreds on rocks. Just thought that was funny
Was never my intent to go "around" with you on this. Just doing my part as a member of the Jeep community to raise awareness of questionable business practices.
What's funny, is that I've talked with Mel many times and he's a great guy. Heck, he's why I bought EVO products and recommended them. Never even crossed my mind that I'd run into an issue dealing with his company.

Mel, appreciate you taking the time to personally ensure customer satisfaction. Thank you.
