fender flare help !

What about a rubber/plastic fender extension. I'll try and explain.
The fender extension would slide out from under your curent fenders and extend over the tires. It would follow your same fender lines and would only need to be 3-6 inches wide to cover the extra width your current fenders don't. It would take some work but could be done. You could slide them in when wheelin and out when your on the road and have the law hot on your ass.

holy crap, i think i have a real idea. Here in louisiana it is possible to get a "farm truck" license plate. around where i live, tractors drive on the highways all the time. no real fenders there. as a matter of fact, i drove my back hoe about 15 miles on an interstate highway once and got passed by about 5 state troopers. they didnt mess with me. The people around here with the "farm plates" get them mainly for tax purposess, but i think if you could get one, the cops with hard ons for you may be more likely to overlook the bullshit. I dont know what your gonna do, but you gotta do something. its gonna piss me off if you gotta mess with that machine.

Here's the only portion of Maryland law that somewhat addresses fenders. Seems a little silly, but limits what you need to address to make the man happy.
§ 22-413. Protectors or flaps behind rear wheels of vehicles.
(d) Ground clearance of protectors or flaps.- The protectors or flaps shall have a ground clearance of not more than one-third of the horizontal distance from the bottom edge of the protector or flap to the centerline of the axle. However, no protector or flap need be closer to the ground than 6 inches under any condition of loading. The protector or flap shall extend laterally at least the width of the tire or tires being protected.

well i got pulled over twice as i posted in anthor thread for tires sticking out so... i went to quadratec and got the wide xenon flat fenders . i figured the wide ones would cover the tires, but not really their still is a good 2 inches or so sticking out . so im not sure what to do .. i have to get the flares to cover the tires to be able to keep them.. anyone have any ideas ? i saw this stuff at quadratec http://www.quadratec.com/products/92510_101.htm but not sure if it would work or look ok with the xenons? it would be nice to find someone to make some custom steel flares. or extend these with a spacer or something to push the whole flare out a inch or two. whatever i do i gotta get the tires covered and i only have a couple weeks to do it.got a repair ticket . thanks for any help im sure their is some solution , here some pics. thanks alote !

It sux that you cant have the flares you have right now. I you happen to change your flares out again, i would be more than happy to take them off your hands. I am looking to get some flares like that. PM me if you take them off

Here is what i would do. Go find some rubber about 1/4 inch thick by however wide it needs to be. get some spray adhesive....... no, wait, here me out.......... stick the rubber to the fenders so that it covers the tires. after you get the "fix ticket" cleared up peel the crap off clean the adhesive of with MEK then spray them like you did the narrow flares. after that go about your business. if a cop stops you again, when you are talking to him, position yourself in front of the dash cam facing the cop car. Make sure the cops back is facing the dash cam and after you talk to him for a while just yell out, "WHAT, hell no i will not perform oral sex on you. I dont wanna get out of the ticket that bad........" you can throw some of your own stuff in there too.
tell him that you are gonna bring him up on charges. He will probably taze you or beat you with the billy stick, but hey its worth a try.
