A 2lb extinguisher fits like a glove in the rear cup holders (I put two... one in each cup holder) and screw the extinguisher bracket to the back part of the console. (watch the electric window wires) Now if you need it while your stuck in the Jeep, just reach behind the console and grab the extinguisher. The second one is for if the fire starts back up.

I'll post pics later....
Here's the pic...

Talking

I have always carried 2 extinguishers in case of incipient fires....as mentioned, a full fledged conflagration is not the intended target for these.

As luck would have it...I was out with a large group of friends, and we had someone get a bit unruly, and dump some stuff into a campfire that perhaps was a bad idea, well, was a bad idea.

I used both extinguishers up, plus some others, and nothing too bad happened other than kicking the moron and sending him home.

The next day, after wheeling, I was letting my budz air back up with the OBA, and one of them yells "HEY TJ! Your truck's on fire!"

I laugh yeah right...then see the smoke, and curse my lack of remaining extinguishers.

I killed the electric, 2 friends had THEIR extinguishers at the ready, and I cracked the hood so they could shoot in...

nothing....neither got off a shot, so I closed the hood again while they read the directions some more.....

They say, OK! GO!!!

I pop it again, and they stand there aiming and motioning - but nothing came out, so I closed the hood again while they read some more....

I then grabbed a cup of water, and threw it on the fire, and it went out.

It seems my battery tie down had shifted over and shorted against the +, which made the cross over bar get really hot, which melted the top of my Yellow top, releasing hydrogen gas, which burst into flame.

It had melted a bunch of wires too, a mess. (I spliced enough to get home though)

Anyway....I did eventually need a new battery, as the weird plastic used for the yellow top cases is unable to be glued/repaired by anything cheaper than a new battery...it won't even bond to itself.

And the moral of the story is LEARN HOW TO USE THE DAMN THING BEFORE YOU NEED IT.

One thing to note about the 2 extinguishers in the cup holders is that it will be real tight to get the rear seat folded.... You have to remove the extinguishers... I trimmed the prongs that grab the extinguisher neck on the brackets and still have to "squish" the seat back to get it past the brackets. No big deal, just because not to rip your seat!
