Dude, all I'm saying is you shouldn't tell this guy he will not need to regear for 35's if you don't know what gear ratio he has currently. And if you don't own/drive what I'm driving now don't tell me I'll be fine with 35's I just need to down shift. All i said was my 321 and 33's are not "ideal". Bc I will not be fine with 35's bc with my stock set up and 33's I am lagging. You are giving bad info. And you told me to save my money for lockers, well when you put in a locker is the ideal time to regear as I am in the process of doing. If this guy has 373 then he may be just fine. All I'm saying is that if he has 321 he isn't going to have an ideal gear set for that tire size. And that's based off of my experience with a 6 speed and 321

My two cents. I have 3.21 and 35's for when I am off roading. Am I looking to go to 4.88 honestly no. I have to use this as a daily drive and don't want my Rpms that high. Do I want a better gear ratio yes some times. But like many have said. Don't plan on using your 6th gear and plan on shifting a lot more with that and 3.21. Looking at the charts on here if you want to have gears that will keep your Rpms down. Find a set of 4.10s.

Now. As far as not being able to get out of your own way or lugging your engine. Ya don't plan on spinning your tires a lot and don't plan on using 4 hi at all. But. They do work. For short term till you can get the money to regear that's what I'm doing

When I try to pull from a light and have to ride the clutch or take off like a snail, it sucks, now, my 4.88 lets me take off in 2nd ... Leaving first for traffic crawl.
Trail crawl: 4Lo 1st gear. Nuff said.

If you maybe would have paid a slight attention to my posts, you'd notice that my output gear ratio is HIGHER (worse) than yours. My tires are BIGGER than yours. Yet, I find it drive perfectly fine/acceptable. It's NOT a rocket. You want a rocket, buy a different vehicle. However, I'm still able to be the 1st off the red light, and pass anyone at will on the highway. I'm done talking to you. You have no will of trying to understand the topic and the workings behind it, and that the tires don't give a single damn about what gears are in your pumpkin. So long

Don't be afraid of higher RPMs. They'll actually give you better mileage, to a point. Being in too high of a gear can kill the mileage very quickly.

It may be fine for you but it isn't for many of us. And you have an auto not a manual. What do you not get? Many of us are telling you it isn't ideal for us. And you keep telling us we are wrong? How can we be wrong when it's our OPINION that 321 and 33 is not ideal.

Oh and here is a little something for you rocket man.

I have a 2011 2 door 6 speed on 35's with 3.73. I find it okay in the city and on the highway. Worst case scenario just use 5th on the highway its not a big deal.

Where I find myself wanting to re-gear is while in 4LO I sometimes don't have enough juice to do the crazy stuff. I stalled out half way up Hells Gate in Moab a few weeks ago. Not fun.

I will be going to 4.56 or 4.88 if I feel it is a continued problem.

That's what I'm trying to say also. My friend who has 488 and 35's can put it in 4lo let out the clutch in first, easy on the brake pedal to ease onto an obstacle then let the brake off completely and he can idle or crawl up obstacles without touching the gas.

With my 321 and 33's I do the same thing except I have to get on the gas to go over the same light obstacle. The gear set really helps off road.

IMO!

4.88's in a 6 speed w/ 35's... Highway is very nice, little touchy in the city, but I got used to it. 65 mph on the highway and I'm at 2500 rpm in 6th. At first I had wished I went with 4.56's, but I grew to love the accel I get from my 4.88. I topped out at 16.9 mpg on the highway, low 15's in the city

Came from 3.21's and could barely use 5th on the highway, and 6th was out of the question!
