So now need to get to the seals.

 

There's reason enuf for a seal to leak. . .

 

The seal can be knocked out easily using a long rod and hammer from the outside of the axle tube, just make sure to be careful and tap evenly all the way around the seal. As far as installing the new seal you can put the new one in with a standard bearing/race driver set and hammer. In my Blue point set there is one that fits it perfectly. It is much easier with the tool shown in the previous posting but can done this way if you have these tools available. I have done a couple sets with no issues whatsoever. Take your time.

Thanks, I I used a pipe and a socket came out pretty easy now about to put it back together. ..

 

This job is a piece of cake man. I did it for my first time not long ago. I did not use and special tools. Just a socket and a long extension. Installed the short side seal first because the short shaft is easier to work with when the other seal is in place. I also recommend you do both and not only one. If you only do one the other will leak soon. Murphy's law man.

 

Ok can anyone tekl me how bad this is?? It was already broken off when I open the deff cover

 

That means you need a new locker, or the good magnet off a locker that was broken in some other way.

 

Thought that what it was... I can still thorough it back in that way right? Just won't have front lockers? So I need to find a used one with a good magnet and switch it out?
