I have the new model. I emailed Bestop about my middle seam leaking. They quickly replied and told me to use Scotchgard on the inside I asked them to send me a can since I bought the top to keep water out and not just slow it down. I have not heard back from them.

Default love my trektop!

mud / rain...anything! the only leaks i had were when i tested it out. i already posted that it was beacuse i sprayed directly @ high pressure along the header, since then, no leaks.

pic from this w/end's aftermath, not a single drop in the cabin from the header. w/the hood covered in that much crap, assured the wave was well over the trektop. my cargo nets were dripping in the back (had the rear window out)

I have to say mine sucks. The design is cool, the look is even cooler. The header on mine didn't work so I called them and they said use a rubber mallet to get it to fit better. That must be an engineering thing, "rubber mallet". I still get leaking and wind noise.

When I get the chance to talk to a rep at some of the local shows, they don't seem to really care that we are having problems.

I hear there are about six different variations of the trek top. I say don't release the top until you have the problems worked out!

It is a pain in the arse unless you undo the rear section, fasten the header, then re-do the rear section. The header set-up is stripped bolts waiting to happen. Mine leaks a little at the stitching over the soundbar, no header leaks as of yet but i do get the wind noise from the driver side header. I may have posted all that on this thread already, just too lazy to look.

Overall Im happy with mine. Was in a down pour yesterday and no leaks. I do wish the rear side windows would zip out, but the ability to roll the entire thing up and toss it behind the seats is what makes all the negatives worth it.

P.O.S from hell. Trektop leaked at windshield bar, whistled in wind like a steam kettle, leaked like storm drain where the seams were.
Bestop instructions were deplorable, and the zipper broke in the first two days. Rear window had two inch openings at the base of the zipper that allowed water to just pour in above the tail gate.

To boot, Bestop customer service answered a page long complaint letter with an email form letter directing me to the place of purchase for warranty issues. I will never, ever purchase Bestop product on that alone.

Don't waste your money or time. By an OEM top.

Side note..I didnt even want to keep it as soft top to use just for off-roading and getting muddy

My first post in this thread said that i ordered my trek top and hoped that it wasnt a piece of shit.......well, it kinda is a piece of shit........BUT WAIT........i was sent the original which was pretty shitty, loose above the drivers head, balooning up at highway speeds, velcro completely coming undone around the door surrounds, etc. I called bestop and they said they would send me the new version (just the top not other parts and accessories). I had been having the new version still in the box for a couple of months, never opened. A couple of days ago, i opened it......not only is the top with the tension straps in there, it also has everything else, rear window, surrounds, and the stiffener bar they use. Also, to my surprise, the tail gate bar was also in the box. I have not put the new one on my jeep yet, but im pretty sure that it will be fine. I mean, the original would have been fine except for the the balooning and stuff. To be honest, my expectations were pretty low for this top. I did expect it to leak a little and to have some wind noise and i was not disappointed. If i want no leaks and no wind noise, ill throw on the hard top or drive my truck. All in all, i would have to say that my experience with bestop was very good. They stand behind their stuff and take care of their customers. I would recommend this top as long as you get the new version.

PS: When they sent me the new top, they told me to keep the old top. I thought that was a pretty good deal.

Anyone want to guess what I'm not buying?
And another thing, Bestop has so much market share on Jeep stuff, they can afford to sell shitty, inconsistent products. I had to return a set of their soft doors because the upper half pins didn't line up the lower half cylinders. "Just bend the doors", they told me (that didn't work). For this Trektop they say "use Scotchguard" or "use a mallet". Just a moment ago I was going to get a Trektop.....Naa, not now
