Ok, cool! So, if I just get the snorkel, would I really need the Superchip? I should be ok without it right?

I have the 2dr rubi with 410's stock air filter. I have not checked the milage, but i think it has improved. power appears to be up a bit. apart from looking good it saved my engine too. go for it and don't look back.

I'm interested in the question about running the snorkel and the superchips together.

Will they improve each other or is it a waste of money... My auto JK is a dog on hills or the highway..great offroad though.

And no, I'm not worrying about regearing right now

The snorkel and superchips work good together....I had to take my JKU in for servicing the other day and reset my jeep to stock....MAJOR DOG! The superchips adds that little needed boost of power uphills & you don't have the lag when you start from a dead stop. Also, it works great for bigger tire calibration, shutting off TPMS, and also, works awesome for Crawl and Tow modes as well as the other performance modes.

I am looking forward to a high flow drop in filter in a few weeks and this should help with a little more seat of the pants grunt.

Hey Mike I placed an order with Stan for my snorkel with prefilter and it should be here in 2 weeks (he sold out again!!!). I assume you went with an AFE filter. If so which one did you go with? I was thinking about the oiled ones but after talking with Chris on the Whipsaw trail I'm leaning towards the "pro dry 5".

Keep us informed about any noticeable performance gains with the combo of the snorkel and the better filter. Once my snorks in, I'll be ordering a better filter as well.

I thought the hole was fairly flat and maybe up to the bumper and I got one hell of a surprise when I dropped. My first instinct.. get out of this big mud hole pit and got on the gas and the last thing on your mind is the air box flooding, but of course I had the snorkel on...stock box or CAI it may have been a different story.

If I had either a Stock box or CAI ....BOOM...hydrolocked. Snorkel saved my rear big time! BEST $400 bucks I spent...saved me $2000+ for a motor plus a really steep $$$$ Tow bill out of the bush!
I had a very similar experience last Memorial Day... so glad I had the snorkel!

Hey Wayne... no way out of stock.... Probably blame me again for posting pictures of my big dip into the mud and the Snorkel Saving my motor.

I actually went with the Dry AFe drop in filter it has been on back order for a few weeks from Lordco. Stan does not sell any drop in filters for the stock box already asked. I will be keeping a Stock air filter for dusty trips and replace it with the AFe after we get back on pavement.

Post some pictures when you get your snorkel installed!

I gained some performance - seat of the pants gains and fuel mileage went up slightly compared to the stock box. Also, love the Growl it had!

AEV snorkel with STOCK filter with Superchips 87 Octane.

It was a little boggy my first tank full but lately it has opened up! I think it was the computer re-learning itself with the new airflow & back to the stock filter.

It does not have the same jump as the CAI but it's very close. I have ordered a AFe high flow drop in filter for the stock box and this should really improve the seat of the pants performance and get it back to the CAI system power and probably more as the AEV snorkel and stock box are getting MUCH Cooler Air than my AirRaid CAI system....Totally sealed from the engine heat as you do seal up all holes in the stock box!

Fuel Economy has gone up by 1.5MPG compared to the CAI even with the Stock air filter. I did lose the throaty growl but hopefully gain some back with the drop in high flow filter. The biggest thing it saved me on a very unassuming mudhole that I would have for sure hydrolocked.

U woulda been F'd if u tipped over right there tho lol!!! Snorkel is better above water and mud not under LMAO

What did Lordco want for the AFE? I got a price of $75 through National4WD. Just in case Lordco wanted more. Yeah I'll post some pics once its installed. After the Whipsaw trail I banged a ton of dust outta my stock filter. So I figure I'll be going with the prefilter.
