I have a 08 4dr with 30k miles. I'm running 35" KM2'S. I have 4.88 gears and am now on my second set of aussie lockers and am having the exact same issue. I know my way around a garage. And have a licensed jeep tech from a local dealership helping with the installs. We have checked everything over twice. And can’t find the problem. My sound like all hell is breaking loose on tight turns. Aussie has been great, sent me the second set under warranty and I haven’t sent back the first set yet for them to do a R&D on it. Very frustrated. I had to replace both axels due to damage to the front yokes, not sure if the lockers we’re the problem. But we have replaced both front axles and the front drive shaft and still sounds like the lockers are binding. I’ll keep a post update for everyone when and if we determen what the problem is.

Mine binds and clunks, on slow turns, I need to go tighter tolerance with the thrust washer, don't think just being "within" spec is good enough. I think this may be allotta peoples problem.

but overall how does it perform? Are you happy with it and is it manageable for a daily driver? You had stated that you drive around without the front driveshaft in, but will it be ok if I leave the front ds on?

My head is spinning trying to figure out a good way to lock my front D30 axle on my daily driver ON A BUDGET. I just want it to be as reliable as a D30 can be and stick with my 35s till they run out.

Is it typical for Aussies to be clunky? I know Detroits are known for the popping noises they make but I am really unfamiliar with Aussies...

Shit! And I thought I had finally made up my mind on an aussie.
Question for SLC, how far of a drive from baton rouge? Need gears soon and don't trust the 2 local 4x4 shops around here. Plus that would give me an excuse for a wheelin trip to tx.

My front ds is in right now, just doesnt get as good a gas milage, I get 1.5-2mpg better with it out. It performs flawlessly off-road. Other than like everyone has stated a slow short turn on pavement it clunks. Normal curves and such or turning with speed, you don't know it's there. SLC fixed one guys clunking by just putting a new stock carrier in. These things are finicky it seems in the jk. My clunking is a bit worse with the 37's than the 35's. More tension on it I guess. I don't really give a shit about the clunking no mo. It scares people when I pull into a parking spot.
