Well I like the idea of the 30102082 having the stronger blades. If it will fit in the housing then I think I will get that one instead of the 30102049 I was going to buy. I can't see 7mm making that much of a difference.

the kill switch is a great idea for sealed or unsealed motors. these plastic electrical fans probably don't do so well torquing mud or water!

i power wash the mud off my unsealed fan numerous times - really thinking the kill switch is going to do more to save (over torquing) your motor than sealed bearings?? unless you get salty, then you'll have corrosion and sealed is the way to go.

are you riding on the beach, or in salt water??
haha, its because of the POS fan Jeep used and my love for water/mud, specially going fast thru it

Nope dont ride on the beach, I know people that have killed them in puddles less then a foot deep, actually my last one died going through one that wasnt deep at all, I just flew through it though. it was mostly two muddy ruts that werent deep. and then I've gone thru hundreds of times and not killed it. If you've seen any of the Pine Barrons threads in trails and tails you'll see what I mean.

Oh here is one pic, 38-40in deep and was stuck in it about 10-15min, didnt kill it, flew into it as fast as I could from a stop and hit the big hole. Another member got stuck in same spot didnt kill his either, but got water in his manual tranny. Came in thru the top metal ring thats not sealed.

Does anyone have the measurements for the factory fan? Mine's in the shop getting a new one right now so I can't measure anything.

Well all this time I thought the fan was to help pull you through deep water

the fan blade itself is 16.5inches, why do you need that?

damn dude - you need a boat not a fan!

ps - when you fly thru water it can displace enough water to swamp jeep as bad as a submersion - fun to do but vehicle will pay you back!

may want to check all your fluids if you do it often make sure radiator, diff, brakes and motor aren't getting water logged and muddy?

raised the breathers Griffin radiator :rocks: stock rad holds mud way to much.... I know it will pay me back with 5 bad fan motors I think I'm on 4th idler pulley, couple tensioner pulleys and on a/c compressor I just love it have fun and its worth it, I mean if I didnt have jeep I could be going to some amusement park or trip that would also cost money right? With everything I've done with my jeep its all been worth it and I dont blame it at all lol

last time I was asked about flying through the puddles like I do, I said I just pray and hope for good luck these are that same hole, but coming the opposite way

ok I found the video of that hole hit it at 1:28 btw no fans or engines were killed this day

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQ0P3aVXZ0U

I still gotta send all my pics and video's to Jeep and ask if my warranty is voided

oh and its said I need a sub

TIM!! You are awesome!! Thanks for tracking down that info about the fans. I feel better about the one I bought now. I might go ahead and get a Griffin radiator while Im at it since you say it doesnt hold mud as much as the stocker. I'm eagerly awaiting the delivery man to bring the SPAL fan, so when I get my lunch break I'll bring it home and try to snap some pics. I wont be able to play with it till after work today, so I hope you guys dont mind waiting a few more hours. I really dont think that .3" will make much of a difference. I'm just worried about how fan is going to mount... Fortunately, there's an Advance 250 ft. from my house.

Actually I wanted all the dimensions. I thought maybe someone measured how far out the fan stuck out. I think I really want to go with the 30102082 but was curious about the extra 9/32" it sticks out. I will just wait and see how CitadelJeep04's fan works out.

Well the dealer just called me and said I also blew out the resistor pack. How does this resistor pack add to what we are trying to do here and the wiring diagram?
