Rubicons don't sit any higher than a sport, the spring rates are based on vehicle weight. Hence why his 4 door sport has 18/58. Rubi take off springs won't do anything for you. That's a 4door spring on a 2 door thing

I was referring to his tires. Talking about comparing his 285/70/17 Duratracs to 255/75/17 BFG MT from a new stock Rubicon. NOT the actual ride height. I'm sorry I was not clear enough to you. But I was talking about tires in that paragraph, and not lift or ride height.

X2. Sorry bud you just wasted your money on the Rubi springs. That trick only works putting 4dr springs on a 2dr. For what you have spent you could have bought a TF 2.5" complete BB with shock extensions and been way farther ahead.

None... Again 4dr to 4dr spring swaps don't gain lift only ride stiffness. Shocks don't provide lift only smooth out the ride. Rubi shocks will not make any difference as a DD so stick with what you have.

I call BS. 14/55 springs on my '08 JKU is what came stock. After installing 18/58 springs from another JKU, I gained over 2".

Here are before and after photos of that change:

True shocks do not provide lift. But anyone who says Rubicon shocks don't make a difference is a liar. Switching from my Black shocks to Rubicon Take offs, the ride was much smoother. Even my fiancé noticed the difference between shocks.

The added weight of the rubicon is really just in the axles right? Transfer case should be about the same. Rubi rails aren't much more than sode steps. Shouldn't affect height which would support rubicons sitting a little taller

True on all those points. Also because Rubicons TYPICALLY come fully loaded with a hardtop and max tow, which both options increase the spring rate from the factory.

My head is throbbing with all the info I have absorbed lately. So I have a simple stupid question.

Trying to decide between the teraflex performance kit and the regular puck kit

I have seen a lot of people get either kit and buy some rubicon takeoffs. Is it worth getting them for a daily driver or just use the stock shocks. What would be the advantage of using the rubicon takeoffs. I realize they are stiffer does that just help if your flexing offroard or sagging.

I doubt I will go any bigger than the 33's due to a 70 mile commute.

So I'm looking to just level it out and make get rid of the rake.

It just seems that the performance kit with even used rubi shocks is just 200 less than a 2.5 OME lift. Or for 250 bucks I could get rubi takeoffs and puck lift

Thanks
I understand the info over load on this, and trying to make the right decision on what's right for you and your jeep, based on HOW you use it...gotta be honest with yourself.

I did the same size tire in a MT ATZ, and did the Terraflex spacer leveling kit. Totally happy with this.

IMO you need at least this to make the Jeep level, and make the wheel wells look 'less stuffed'. I've had no rub issues, ride is stock...In fact I think it's better then stock.

It's just enough of a lift to say hay....that aint stock, and didn't break the bank doing so.

My DD use is very similar to yours.

Good luck

Sweet I love saving money. And there's nothing like spending a boat load of money for nothing. With my setup know I don't rub at all. So I'm looking at a cosmetic effect. So I think I'll go for the puck lift and I can always add longer shocks if I put a bumper on it. Thanks a lot guys

You read my mind on the shocks....I left the OEM's in for now, but next one the list is a longer shock for my set up.

Cosmetic yes, I have flexed it out and no issues. Some day I'll do a coil lift....for now all honestly this is perfect.

There 's a thread here on leveling kits, check it out...it really is amazing what a little bit of lift will do.

Then go park bumper to bumper with a stocker and SEE the difference. Did this with a buddy at work, and he called me a Jerk for having a bigger Jeep

I'll see if I can figure out how to post pictures here...
