Leveling kit questions
You read my mind on the shocks....I left the OEM's in for now, but next one the list is a longer shock for my set up.
Cosmetic yes, I have flexed it out and no issues. Some day I'll do a coil lift....for now all honestly this is perfect.
There 's a thread here on leveling kits, check it out...it really is amazing what a little bit of lift will do.
Then go park bumper to bumper with a stocker and SEE the difference. Did this with a buddy at work, and he called me a Jerk for having a bigger Jeep
I'll see if I can figure out how to post pictures here...

I call BS. 14/55 springs on my '08 JKU is what came stock. After installing 18/58 springs from another JKU, I gained over 2".
Here are before and after photos of that change:

True shocks do not provide lift. But anyone who says Rubicon shocks don't make a difference is a liar. Switching from my Black shocks to Rubicon Take offs, the ride was much smoother. Even my fiancé noticed the difference between shocks.
And I'll bet the ride difference you noticed was more about those springs then the shocks. Rubi shocks are meant for Offroad and are know to be a bit stiffer then the Sahara and sport shocks not smoother.
And here is a link in the Stock thread. See if you can find a unlimited in that extensive thread with 14/55.

Dude you can call BS all you want and all day long. We have 3 JKs and i install lifts for others so if you had 14/55 spring in your unlimited someone played an evil trick on you. Unlimiteds even a bare bones softtop only sport comes with no less then 16/56, hell, my daughters 2 door came with 14/55s.

The Sport in its stock form is a great 'canvas' to build 'your' Jeep the way YOU want it. These builds are by far the most dramatic of all the Wrangler builds when you see the before and after photos....I'm always impressed what wheels and tires do for a Jeep.
I have the teraflex leveling kit with monroe monotubes shocks and could not be happier. I love the setup. 120 bucks for the lift, and 200 bucks for shocks with a lifetime warranty.
