Id go with at least 4.88 for gears... Most people will tell you to go as much as possible with an automatic aka 5.13 but I'm going to be going with 4.88 just for better performance on the highway.

yeah im driving a 2002 acura mdx and its great on gas and what not but its definately not an
offroading vehicle. but im just gonna have to deal with the horrible mpg for jeeps espically when i lift and big tires and what not

If your going to run a 37" tire on an auto, forget the 4.88 and go with 5:13's at the minimum.

i have a friend with a 5.5 rock krawler lift on a 4 door with 37s and its crazy hom much gap between the fender and tire there is and the jeep handles like poop i would not wanna drive it daily and it gets 11mpg

Too much lift for 37's. Mine drives better than stock.

You're talking apples vs oranges here. A 5.5" lift on a TJ, is NOT the same as one on a JK.

TJ's needed higher lifts than what a JK needs. 35" tires will fit on a 2.5" lifted JK, although a 3" may be better.
