Default locker locked?

i just got my jeep back from the dealership today. i ordered rubicon dana 44's with the lockers for the front and rear. they are hooked to toggle switches placed under the steering wheel.. my question is, how do i know if the lockers are locking?

thanks,
john

factory switches are sealed on the back. to hook up the lockers on a non rubi it takes about about $600 in wire harnesses and switches.. this way it was supposed to be cheaper per the dealer. the lockers are also supposed to be able to be engaged in 4wd high and low.

now, i want to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to but am not sure how to check to see if they are locking.

I thought you had a Rubi... so I still don't get why you have toggles. They altered it? On a normal Rubi you'd have a dash light that illuminates a lock and shows you what lockers are engaged (per the manual). Don't know if that exists on your unique setup. But, you should feel them engage, I'd think. Should be a noticeable difference when you're locked-- especially up front.

i have an x.. i ordered rubi dana 44's with the lockers and had them installed by the dealer.. the dealer used a direct switch to the lockers so as not to have to order the wiring harnesses and switch.

You will know when youre locked. Anytime you turn a corner.

May I ask how much the dealer charged for the parts and installation of the D44/lockers?

could do the same as what ARB owners do.

Ask someone spotting if only one wheel is spinning

A "indicator" light is going to tell you that is it getting power and "should" be locked. you could run it off the power wire at the diff back to a LED at the dash.

for both d44's with the lockers complete to the brakes i paid $3500 installed. the lockers are wired to a lighted switch that comes on when they are activated but i am not sure they are locking. i expected feeling something different when driving with the lockers on. i heard nothing nor felt nothing different when he switches were activated.

i guess i wil get the dealership to show me how to tell if they are activating when they are looking at the dents and scratches they put in my jeep.

go to a parking lot, turn on lockers, crank wheel all the way one direction, drive and listen for tire chirp/drag. none of that noise happening and something is up
