Locker Switch Diagram...
thanks a ton - that would be awesome! would you make sure to take a pic of where/what wires are connected to the switch, please?
is there someone that can explain how to wire the switch to make it apply the ground?
yes, i know how to wire the switch up to supply ground...but im working on how to find a way to get the led light to light up while supplying ground....
Each of the LED tipped switches are labeled. One terminal is power, one is ground, and one is your accessory. In the "on" position, power is supplied to the accessory and the LED. but since this is a grounding toggle switch, it will just be reversed...ie wire from locker coming into the power terminal, then wire coming off of acc terminal to a ground...turn the switch on and it should close the circuit and ground that wire.....BUT no led light will come on....that is what i need to figure out how to do

Here are some diagrams (mostly hijacked and re-made from others) that i compiled:

Make two of these (one for the front and one for the rear):

Note: the above diagram is how to wire the switches if you want to use a switch with an indicator light on them. the relay is used to cause your rocker switch to apply a ground, instead of switching on power.
if you don't want a light, get a two-prong switch and ground one side, and splice the other side of the switch into the locker relay control wire. it's much simpler that way.
I get my jeep back from having a soft top leak fixed this friday (hopefully). I will wire this all up and take pictures for a write up this weekend, (assuming i don't jack something up) if it hasn't been done by then.
the pictures are pretty self-explanatory. i am planning on putting the relays under the dash, just to keep lengths of wires to a minimum.
i will be mounting the switches on the blank plate below the factory locker switches, or possibly to the right of the steering wheel column. haven't decided which yet.
supplies:
2 relays cost about $4 ea. at autozone. 2 led switches about $3 ea. at autozone. 16ga wire is fine.
it's probably prudent to place a fuse inline with the power wires (depends on your relay - mine are 30a, but it should actually draw anywhere near that much). you are only drawing enough power to trip the relay), but most likely not actually required.
you'll need about a sixteen female connectors for whatever size wire you use. heat shrink tube would be ideal for covering splices and your crimps on the female connectors if you want to cover all your bases.
get a few 12ga. ring terminals for your ground wires so you can ground several 16ga. wires to one spot.
it would probably be a good idea to solder your splices into the locker control wire, but i haven't decided if i'm going to or not.
wire loom to cover any wire under the hood or make your wiring under the dash neat and tidy.

Where did you find this write-up? Send it and I can post it.
i sent you a pm with my e-mail address, if you want to e-mail me your write-up and have me post it.
