now i can see how someone could over tighten, i just left the gap there, it doesn't shake with the wind or anything. but if you try and tighten it like that,i can see how you could damage it.

This will absolutely happen if you install the Freedom panels without the rest of the hard top and don't flip the little feet things down.. The Freedom panels sit up on the lip of the hard top and without the feet things extended the panels sit much lower.
