Worked for me. Then I tried it on my wife's VW Routan (Chrysler w/ VW emblem) and it worked there as well.
Are you holding the lock button down long enough?

here are breather hoses on both axles, the transfer case, and auto transmission. On manual transmission there is a breather under the shift boot (at least I have seen a picture of a 3.8L there). They are there to let gases escape with changing temperature. If you lift your Jeep you may need to extend your breathers on your axles so they don't come off when flexing. Another reason to extend your breather hoses is to raise them up where they are less likely to ingest water and contaminate your oil. It's something everyone with a snorkel, or who plays in water should do.

QUICK RELEASE SIDE MIRRORS - $35
These will not vibrate at interstate speeds. They take about a minute to put on or take off. if you think these look too much like a mod. I have heard that Harley (motorcycle) mirrors are a good option (won't vibrate)

This is all the parts and tools you will need for one side

Hand Release Mirror Parts
NOTE:: I got the mirrors at Advanced Auto ($10 each) the rest I got at Home Depot for about $15 so both mirrors for about $35
[*]Stainless Steel Eyebolt with Nut 3/8" X 6 - This was hanging on the wall[*]Wing Nut 3/8" - 16 thread - Stainless Steal - This was hanging up close to the eyebolt nut[*]Bonded Sealing Washer 3/8" Galvanized - 2 per each mirror - Located in the boxes - It is sort of warped like a cone - one side is rubber the other is metal.[*]Spacer Nylon 3/8" X 1" - 2 per each mirror, so 4 if your making 2 - Located in the boxes labeled spacers[*]3/8" Flat Washer - Should be just a bit smaller than 1" in diameter - 2 per each mirror

------------------------------
Putting it all together
[*]Put a flat washer on the eyebolt nut[*]Put 2 of the nylon spacers on[*]Put another flat washer on[*]Put the stainless steal nut that comes with the eyebolt on just hand tight[*]Put the mirror harness around the spacers. You can remove the black plastic liner. Make sure you have it pointing the right way for the side your putting it on.[*]Alternate tighting the 2 nuts you just put on until it isn't going to move at all- It takes a 12mm and 14mm wrench[*]Put on one of the Bonded Sealing Washers with the rubber pointing down.[*]Put the assembly onto the hinge[*]Put another Bonded Sealing Washer on there with the rubber side faceing up.[*]Put on the wing nut and tighten it down as well as you can with your hands.[*]Adjust the mirror[*]

STOP SEATBELT FLAPPING $9
Get 2 shoulder pads at wal-mart (made by "custom accessories"). They are about 8" long. I put them down by where the belt feeds out on each side, and it stopped the flapping cold. The custom accessory ones are nice because they let the belts spool back in. You won't even know they are on once installed. Not all brands of shoulder pad will work. I tried another type from auto-zone that wouldn't let it go back in when you unhooked the seat-belt, so I returned those.

LINK-> https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-s...hreads-238739/ -$200 with all the supplies and sprayed. It's cheap compaired to the $1500 you could pay for Line-X. Overall the best mod I have done so I will add it.

MALL CRAWL GROCERY CARGO NET $10
I got this net show below at Lowes. Secure Tite 15" x 30" Mini Cargo Net
Item #: 317632 | Model #: 61444. It works good sometimes I wish the netting was a bit closer.

LINK-> NO DRILL CB MOUNT ON FOOTMAN LOOP - $10

People have got this to work with full sized (Cobra 29) radios too. That's a Uniden 520XL shown. A full cb set-up cost $150+. If your just looking into it I would check out this link-> https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-c...-guide-246403/

LOCKING LUG NUT ON SPARE - $20
I don't do my driving wheels, but I do put a lock on the back tire. The most secure locking lugs are made by Gorilla.
Gorilla Automotive 71481NB5 - Gorilla High Security Wheel Lock Set in Chrome for Jeep® Vehicles - Quadratec

SPRAY PAINT EXAUST & TOUCH UPS - $8
Take a scotch bright pad then scuff your exaust up to prep, then Paint. You can also touch up any other areas that need it. Rustoleum High Heat Ultra spray paint is nice because it doesn't require primer much like bedliner. It also won't burn off and smell nasty.

I condensed DesertJeepin's great thread on the link above. Here are 2 I would recommend doing the most.
Remove Seat Belt Reminder Chime
NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the
ON/RUN or START position. Chrysler Group LLC does
not recommend deactivating BeltAlert.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and
buckle the driver’s seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position (do
not start the engine), and wait for the Seat Belt Reminder
Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle
and then re-buckle the driver’s seat belt at least three
times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt fastened.

Remote Key Unlock All On First Press
1. Press and hold the LOCK button on a programmed
RKE transmitter.
2. Continue to hold the RKE transmitter LOCK button
for at least four seconds, but not longer than 10 seconds,
then press and hold the RKE transmitter UNLOCK
button.
3. Release both buttons at the same time.
4. Test this feature while outside of the vehicle by
pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter.
NOTE:Pressing the RKE transmitter LOCK button
while you are inside of the vehicle will activate the
Vehicle Security Alarm. Opening a door with the Vehicle
Security Alarm activated will cause the alarm to sound.
Press the RKE transmitter UNLOCK button to deactivate
the Vehicle Security Alarm.
5. If the desired programming was not achieved or to
reactivate this feature, repeat the above steps.
NOTE:Pressing the LOCK button on the RKE transmitter
while you are inside the vehicle will activate the
Vehicle Security Alarm. Opening a door with the Vehicle
Security Alarm activated will cause the alarm to sound.
Press the UNLOCK button to deactivate the Vehicle
Security Alarm

EXTEND ZIPPERS - FREE-ISH
You can take a small peice of paracord and make it into a loop. Then extend your zippers by going through the zipper hole and looping the cord on itself.
Thanks for all of theses- great post!
It just reminded me to deactivate the seatbelt chime!

You can go to Lowe's and get a 3" PVC insert and it's cheaper than what they send you from Ebay. That's on my to get list.

Go to a boat dealership and you can get the actual cup holder insert like used in a boat. One benefit is it will be black already.

Default Dog seat belt / cargo strap for JKU

Here's something I did today. My dog usually rides in the back seat. We bought a harness that plugs into the seat belt, and that worked great. But with a baby coming next month, the two can't ride together back there.

A month or so ago, I bought a basic seat belt kit at O'Reilly's or Auto Zone- this is the closest I can find to what I got. Note the 45 degree mount brackets- these fit perfectly where I ended up mounting them.

First I removed the left rear cargo tie-down with a Torx bit.

The included washer discs were way too large to fit in there. I had a smaller, but still large enough, washer sitting around to give some stability underneath.

Then I mounted the seat belt bracket underneath the existing tie down loop, using the original hardware. The bracket fits just right against the angled depression the tie down sits in.

At the back left tie down (behind the driver's side rear seat), I did much the same. I was able to use the supplied seat belt washer (about 3" diameter) underneath, then mount the buckle and the existing tie down again.

This way I had something to attach the loose belt to, when there is no dog in the back.

And it can serve as an adustable tie-down that I can't forget to keep onboard:

And here she is, the subject of our cheap and easy mod. Precious cargo.
