Post Manual Programming Features with Sequences - Enable / Disable

ABOUT POST
Most of this information comes from the 2012 4th Edition User Guide PDF. These program sequences should work with almost any JK. It seemed to be a nice idea to have them all in one place where you can easily run through them. I did my best to put the section and page number from where the feature sequence was found in the manual, or my source. There are some programming features that are now being left out of the user manual (like remove the door chime reminder). I did my best to find those to make this more complete. I would like to thank DesertJeepin for his post on --> Disable/Enable feature codes/sequences. That one was getting long and harry so I decided to condense it.

NOTE: Most of these sequences are set to toggle. So just do it a second time to reset it.

How To Read DTC Error Codes - From Link -> Disable/Enable feature codes/sequences - Page 3

1. To check your Jeep JK Wrangler’s DTC codes, simply insert your key into the ignition, turn it to the ‘ON’ position but do not start the engine. Then, push the key into the ignition cylinder and while holding it in, turn it to the ‘OFF’ position and then back to the ‘ON’ position (3) times straight making sure to end with it in the ‘ON’ position. It is important to keep pushing in on the key to prevent it from catching at the different positions along the way.
2. If you do step #1 correctly, all your dash lights will illuminate and your odometer will show up as a series of (6) dashes. If your Jeep JK Wrangler has logged any DTC’s, they will be displayed soon after the dashes appear. Write down the DTC(s).
3. If your Jeep JK Wrangler has not logged any DTC’s, the dashes on your odometer will be followed by the message ‘-done-’. Turn your key to the ‘OFF’ position and you will in fact be done.

A list of DTC codes can also be found here LINK-> Disable/Enable feature codes/sequences - Page 4

Question Does anyone know how to prevent the headlights from coming on when unlocking??

I was camping this weekend and I couldn't find a way to turn off the headlights coming on when I was unlocking my Jeep. It was flashing the next campsite. The best I could do was remove the lights from flashing when I locked it.

NOTE:: If you lock your car with the remote key FOB, and then try to unlock manually with the key, the alarm will sound and the light will come on

Default EVIC Link

I found this link when searching for EVIC programming on Google: Jeep Grand Cherokee WK - Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) . I do not know much about EVIC programming. But it interests me.

Hope this helps,

It looks like it would be called "Illuminated Approach" in the EVIC. Mine doesn't have EVIC but maybe I can talk my dealer into changing it later. Thanks

Default Very useful free programming without the 900$ Uconnect

Thanks for this info. The 900$ option for Uconnect and the programming ability thru that was not needed. Reset 2016 Unlimited AEV JK3.5 to not chirp on lock. That would have been the only reason to add the Uconnect with EVIC programming feature. 900 bucks will buy something more useful. Bravo!
