No problems here. They are easy enough to remove too.

I just cut my stock antenna down to size.. Pull off the little ball end, cut to length, put a slight taper on the end of the antenna and glue the ball back on. Bedline. Done.

I made it even with the roof line to use a feeler-gauge for the roof, but make it any length you wish.

Cost $0. Undetectable loss of reception.

My stock antenna is terrible anyway. Interested in the stubby replacement, looks better and might improve reception. Good post!

Some other things worth noting on the stubby antenna from Quadratec.
  1. The AMI stubby antenna will need the antenna adapter. They are sold separately.
  2. The antenna comes in several lengths and in two finishes. Mine is a 12" with the glossy black finish. It is also available in 6", 9", 15", & 21" inch lengths and in a polished steel finish.
I didn't want the polished steel finish for sure, and didn't care for the glossy black all that much after installing it. I didn't like the glossy black against all the textured black plastic on the Jeep. To resolve the problem I took some steel wool and de-greaser to mine and then bedlined it with the Rustoleum aerosol bedliner from Lowe's. Now it looks like the black plastic. Much better.

Mine gets comparable reception to the OEM antenna and is easily removed and reinstalled with the super hi-tech installation adapter that comes with it and fits neatly inside your glove box.

We sprayed bedliner on both grills a few weeks ago. Last weekend bought the steel inserts and painted them. Also painted the mufflers black so they don't yell LOOK AT ME and people see the JK instead

I see you painted the logo on your grills, do you like it black rather than chrome?

We have a baby boy due in January so saving $ and can't spend it on the JK. Today I made a list of my cheap mods I want to do:

1. Chop fenders
2. Fog light replacement
3. Shorten antenna
4. Paint factory rims black
