Just saw low mile on Atlanta craigslist asking $2200 if anyone's interested. I'm not ready yet unfortunately!

I would like to but I know it's going to be a task! There are quite a few things I need to do to the engine prior to even getting the AEV conversion kit.

like what? was there damage to the engine? I really look forward to seeing this. I saw a guy on here that saved some coin by not getting an AEV kit and got his computer and harness from hotwire auto and making hoses and stuff. I think that method and the engine you have would be less than 5k total. That is amazing to me if someone does it for that. Please let us know how you do it and total cost.

Makes me think about selling the mp5k to join the club if it keeps getting cheaper and more simple. I would be too excited to sleep if I had a hemi in the garage waiting to go in!

I will definitely check into the hotwire auto computer and harness for this conversion. But the engine was involved in a rollover and the leftside valve cover has a missing bank and a couple of bent bolts that was probably broken off and bent in the rollover, the engine has some dirt that I'd like to clean up and just ensure that it is in good working condition along with oil change and other service items done while it's still out of the vehicle.

Just a side note for all, Jeep stopped making the Commander in 2010.

Default Pics of Hemi

Finally got pics of my hemi, it's now at a good friend of mines shop in Texas. He agreed to do the conversion for me so right now he's going to fix anything wrong with the engine and transmission and from there we'll get the correct and best conversion kit and needed parts for the install.

Yeah thats at least an 09 motor. Go the hotwire auto route. I did. I sourced all my parts myself and came out cheaper than the package deals but in hindsight, a package deal wouldve been easier. I just suck at saving dough, so I bought parts as i went. The motor looks pretty rough, but after getting it cleaned up you can check for sure what you might need. You will need to change the tailshaft for sure. That will add a little. Looks like you have the correct manifolds too so that is good. I would just toss the old harness and computer. You wont need it. Hotwires harness is complete.
