Default NEED more power!!!

So as many of you, I'm somewhat dissappointed with the overall power of the engine. What can be done from cheap to expensive to get more power??

I've been thinking of an engine swap but according to what I've read, they can cost up to $25000!!

Also considered a super charger for a lower price tag of around $6000.

Any other cheaper suggestions?

What gas is everyone running?

THANKS!!!

100% of my gear money for the 5.13s is still officially in the current 70% supercharger/snorkle fund!
I run premium with the Hypertec Max Energy and it's barely worth it.

I drove a 6-speed 2 door nearly identical to mine that was sporting a set of 5.13 gears, and it wasn't much better for passing cars doing 60mph on 2 lane secondary roads than my Rubicon with 4.10 gears.
Sure, with the 5.13 gears it's like you are already downshifted one gear, so it's a little less rowing along but it's still the same power. And you got no OD for when you do get up to 75mph. It's better, but not much better.
But think about the poor auto guys, they have to go 5.13s just to get to where us 6-speed guys already are.

Did you do the swap yourself? I was totally turned off to the Hemi swap when I heard people were paying $18,000+ for them. Then I think I heard that price was for guys who bought new crate engine/trans and paid one of the more prestigous shops to do it.

I'm curious if I picked up a salvaged engine/trans and did the install myself how cheaply I could do it. Besides the cost of the engine/trans and the AEV kit is there any other costs? If not, it sounds like I could do it for under $10k.

I'm also really excited because AEV announced they are about to release a 6 speed hemi kit.

Looking real hard at the RIPP, just couldn't justify the HEMI, long term for me would be RIPP supercharger and then maybe 4.88 gears (won't be going taller than 35s).

I was just let down by how little the gears helped for passing cars doing 60mph on 2 lane secondary roads, and gears or no gears, forget it if there is a hill. Now driveability is improved with gears, you can skip them more and cruise is more useful, but it's still the same power (or lack of).
Like I say, the stock Rubicon/35s has a 5 speed with a useful OD, with 4.88/5.13 gears it's a 6 speed.

You don't need more power, you just need to shed weight. Strip off the top and doors, chop the bumpers and fenders etc.

Chrysler will be offering a 60 deg V6 next year - 280hp/260fp. This might make an easy/cheap swap for our 3.8. The "might" part being if it mounts to our tranny/use exisiting cooling systems/ECU issues/etc. I cant afford (and really dont want) a hemi. I would prefer to stay away from forced induction - more crap to go wrong IMO. So, I am crossing my fingers for a cheap pentastar swap... Time for someone that actually knows what they are talking about to crush my hopes...
