NEED more power!!!
I'd love a CRD, but I want it with a 6-speed manual and decent driveability........and NO BS UREA TANK like BMW, MB, and VW are currently using to allow their Diesels to pass emissions. Word on the street is that Honda has a new exhaust setup to ditch the Urea tank, but it won't be going into production until late 2010-11
If I could afford it, I'd go with a RIPP supercharger in a sec! Be great to have them represented up here in Western Canada. RIPP, if you want rolling advertisement up north, I'll gladly do it
Chuck45,
Any new Diesel truck is going to suck! They have them CHOCKED down with the Emissions'! If you strip the stuff DPF EGR block and a few more that FERD will wake up! By the way I am a Dodge Cummins guy

It would be nice if that Ripp supercharger is that good! I put a avenger supercharger on my TJ and have always regretted it. Ive never thought it was worth the money I spent on it, the power increase was not worth it, very minor.
I TJ has a 3 speed auto and I know that doesnt help either.

The RIPP kit is the only JK Supercharger that works flawlessly.

So as many of you, I'm somewhat dissappointed with the overall power of the engine. What can be done from cheap to expensive to get more power??
I've been thinking of an engine swap but according to what I've read, they can cost up to $25000!!
Also considered a super charger for a lower price tag of around $6000.
Any other cheaper suggestions?
What gas is everyone running?
THANKS!!!

I think anybody who has the passion to create and market a product will vehemently defend it.
If I had the cash this would surely be my first upgrade. Just the thought of a quick jeep makes me giddy.

Two things here.
First, I really appreciate a company like RIPP participating in a forum like this, it indicates a passion for it's products that's not often seen, as well as customer service second to none.
Second, after checking out Jeeps very similar to mine with 4.88 and 5.13 gears, neither ratio alone will achieve what I would like the Jeep to do on the street.
Specifically 2 lane secondary road commutes at 65mph with power to spare. And of course it could have more power on those 80mph interstate runs as well. At 80mph my Rubicon is turning roughly 2900 rpm, and even downshifted, there isn't much gain in power.
This is where the supercharger is a much cheaper option than the engine swap, and looks to be entirely suitable for my needs. I realize that even with the blower a downshift will still be needed from 6th at 60mph, but with an extra 75+ HP, it won't be in vain!
