NEED more power!!!
There's really nothing to defend.

The RIPP JK kit is the ONLY kit that works flawlessly right out of the box. This is why you don't see other supercharged JK's posting info.
and some of those other kits require cutting your hood and firewall, and have an external oiling systems and a water to air coolers, just a massive amount of parts, pumps and electronics by some other company , no good with a rig that needs to be 100% dependable off road.

would the supercharger work better with a cowl induction hood? Forgive my ignorance, I dont know alot about them. I was looking at the pictures of the where the airbox is relocated and thought it would work perfect with the truck master hood.
it already has the cowl induction set up
it already has the cowl induction set up
We include a battery relocation kit.
I fashioned up the following theoretical dyno comparison using numbers from the pentastar press release and 20% drive train loss. I threw in the hypertech premium numbers for comparison. I used their dyno sheet for the stock 3.8 numbers as well.
No guarantees on that torque curve, I massaged it purely from the statement in the press release which was "flat torque curve ... exceeds 90 percent of its peak value from 1,600 to 6,400 rpm".
Also the press release states "replace seven current V-6 engines" so we may see this in JK soon. If so the conversion should be more affordable then the hemi swap. Just have to wait to see how refined this motor is...

Can't wait for your review, as I'm ready to order one myself (I have a Hypertech Max Energy too) and am very curious about the smoothness of the throttle responce off road in the various tunes, the Hypertech is very smooth and controllable and a real pleasure although throttle responce is a bit muted.
Do you know or have you seen if the "crawl tune" can be automatically implemented when you go to 4LO?
When/if I get the RIPP blower, the other features such as lockers, TPMS, will still be useful even if the tuning isn't.
And the MOPAR Hutchinsons, weigh 55lbs, the Rock Monsters are listed at 47lb, way way much much more lighter (LOL).
I'm really interested in a backup set of tires, 34-35" MTRs mounted on the Rubicon rims possibly with Stauns (I'm just a big believer in beadlocks, lost way too many beads over the years, usually doing stoopid stuff, you know, heck I know you know, you wheel!!).
And I just love the factory rims, even if it means spacers.
Crap. Planman, I think I'll follow your lead and just order the dang thing too, money isn't near the problem that time is, then I can compare notes with everyone else!
Love your Jeeps, and thanks for all the help with your informative posts, good buddy.

I'm interested in comparing notes as well, as you're one of the guys I stalk for information. Not that SC hasn't delivered and met my expectations, just that in fairness Hypertech has said my vehicle was beyond the capacity of their tuning as I have headers, an exhaust and a CAI installed.
My testing wasn't as exhaustive as it could have been because I reached my conclusions fairly quickly. Some data logging with the 0-60 times and after the first run with the SC it was pretty much done. As my Hypertech also worked with my Hemi Dodge Ram, I was also able to do some prior tests comparing the Hypertech to the Superchips as well. Again, not even close but at least I was able to feel a butt dyno improvement over stock.
I'll be taking my first long trip with the JK since the SC install next week. Traveling over 2,000 miles will aid me in getting some pretty good highway numbers. My primary concern will be resolving the efficiency differences between the tow, regular and 93 octane settings. Past experience with my truck has suggested more octane, better mpg but want to derive at some sort of conclusion as to cost threshold. At $4 a gallon paying the extra 20¢ a gallon for premium was worth it. At $2.50 the extra 20¢ wasn't worth the mileage pick up.
Although I'd be content to run the Tow setting for as long as I have my JK, I'm sure there is an efficiency hit. It fits the way I drive and the additional low end power is great around town. On the highway, I'm not so sure. If it's close, I'll probably just leave it there until I change something else on my rig.
Anyway, just glad to have someone else with experience with both programmers adding to the discussion, and with someone who has a couple JKs to make a more in depth comparison.

I have dual batteries (am not willing to lose them) and a tranny cooler up front. From what I understand I need to do some stuff with moving the intake/battery. And with my tranny cooler, I dont think there is room for the SC inter cooler. Which I would guess means I would have to use the stock intake with no inter cooler. What are your thoughts? Is your SC an option for me?
My choices for more power would be
A Hemi
The Ripp Supercharger
Gears and a programmer.
I hear talk about power band this and that, Blah Blah Blah. The 3.8 has enough power to push/pull your Jeep any where you take it EXCEPT the freeway. If I trailered my Jeep, all I'd have done to it was gears.
