Old Man Emu shocks
Sorry if this is a repost but I couldnt find anything using the search bar. Is anyone running Old Man Emu shocks? Ive heard alot about Old Man Emu I just wanted to see if anyone has a good or bad opinion about them. I am interested in buying a full set of them.
I'm not running them and I've heard a lot of great things about them on this forum, but my brother-in-law who builds off road race trucks (iron horse racing) assures me they are junk. Since shocks are a key component to his type of racing, I take his word for it. Him and JP magazine advise to invest in mono-tube shocks. OME are not mono-tubes. Their springs on the other hand, are probably why people love their lift kits.

My experience with ome shocks, which I have on my jeep now, is that ome makes good shocks. Maybe not for a race truck, but for a daily driver or weekend warrior they ride smooth and I like them, they're soft. I had bilsteins on before these and I like these much better. Just hitting a bump on the road with bilsteins jarred me and it didn't feel good. That feeling was eliminated with the omes. Just a little mor plush of a ride. Which is nice on a lifted stiff jeep. The post above is honestly the first negative review I've ever seen. The rancho adjustables or the new fox shocks might be worth some research also, but honestly these omes are going to be hard for me to change for the way I use my jeep and my money. Hope this helps you.

I use mine offroad. My opinion is that the omes are a good all around shock. There just tuned differently than the bilsteins. It's all a matter of opinion really. There designed with the outback in mind, whatever that means, but from reviews and videos I've seen they do they're homework and develop a good product.
