Old Man Emu shocks
Had new nitrochargers (Not on my JK on a Nissan Patrol SWB): they lasted one trip to Morocco and back, lots of washboard type track and sand. They died on the way back (8000 k's).....those shocks just can't handle heat and washboard roads at moderate speed. They were plush at the beginnig albeit a bit soft to my likes ( used to Bilsteins and Koni's) and just degraded to ultra soft non existant pogo sticks.
Having gone from OEM rubicons to OME Sport shocks, those red rubies having a decent ride to them. If someone does a little 1-2 inch suspension increase, they are tough to beat for what someone can buy them on CL for.
I said I'd reply once I got them installed and I finally stopped being lazy and did.
After I installed them, I drove around for about 45 miles seeing how they rode and can say they ride great with the MC coils.
I swapped from the Teraflex 9550 shocks and they blow those out of the water.
The OME shocks have a nice soft but firm ride. Off road they kick ass! I went to a severely washboarded road right outside of town and it rode like a Cadillac. With the previous TF shocks, it'd shake the piss right out of you and make it sound like your Jeep was falling apart.
So far my first impressions are that these are a great shock. I only have two complaints so far, one being the paint on the shocks is VERY easy to scratch off. But I don't really care a whole lot. The second complaint is that on one of the rear shocks, the bar pin was too small for the factory bolts. The other shock and bolts fit perfectly but for some reason this shock and its bar pin was too small for the bolts. Easy fix with a grinder though.
Overall, I would recommend these shocks. Specially anyone with the MC coils.
