Default overflow while fueling?

I am having an issue of the fuel cut off valve not working when fueling up. I had the jeep overflow on me twice and since then, I have only been putting in about 3/4 tank to avoid the issue. Couple months back, I took it into the dealership and they basically told me that chrysler covered this under recall on every year make except for the 2010, which ironically is my year model... did a little google and thread searching and noticed a whole plethora of people have had similar problems. Is it a simple fix? Should I fight the dealer or head to napa?

Nice to finally have a little bit of time off of school to post up some of my issues and get some work done on my heep.

My 2007 does it and I have never received any recall. I was told by the dealer it needed a new tank.
I just fill close to full and call it a day. I would like to know if there is such a recall, if Jeep is picking up the bill I'll let the POS dealer fix it.

In my 08 JKU when the meter hits 17 gallons I pump the rest by hand. Simple.

Happens to me if I don't finish filling by hand. Happened to me the other day and the lady at the pump next to me laughed at me.. So I looked at her and then at her crappy sedan and laughed back and left. Lol

Wow. I've only had this post up for a couple hours and look at all the issues that surfaced. My main concern is what happens when I'm out wheeling? I don't want my gas leaking out since a valve isn't closing and stopping gas from running out onto the side of my jeep when I'm gettin all caddywhompus... I can cope with shutting the pump off by hand. Rather not if I don't have to though

My 08 had the issue. Got the recall notice. Dealer replaced the whole tank. AND gave me crap for having "weird metal plates" under there.
It's a JEEP! Are dealers not aware that people put after market skids on, or drive them off road?? Have they ever seen a tv commercial for the product they sell?

There was no recall on the tanks.
It's a tsb/warranty extension, no time or mileage limits, for those JKs built between 01 March 2007 and 31 March 2008.

Service Bulletin #14-001-11
Warranty Bulletin # D-11-05

My old work truck (2007 f-250) did the same thing and all it was was the tank vent being plugged off with mud.
