It's a JEEP! Are dealers not aware that people put after market skids on, or drive them off road?? Have they ever seen a tv commercial for the product they sell?
I'm tellin ya buddy, these guys. They build a vehicle and market it as the toughest vehicle made (which it is) and when people go out and use it as it was intended to be used, they're all "well that voids a warranty", "can't put a lift on or beef up the drive train, you just had your warranty revoked". They try to give me the business for my petty little problems such as leaky hardtop or fuel valve not shutting. Thank god I don't have some tranny issues or gears howling in my diffs

It's a tsb/warranty extension, no time or mileage limits, for those JKs built between 01 March 2007 and 31 March 2008.

My 08 JKU falls under these times, but the dealership never had a TSB for this on my JK

My 2008 JKU and had the same problem, we took it to the dealer and they replaced the entire tank under the recall even though online it did not show any recall.
It fixed it and we have not had any problems since.

That could be because it's not a recall.

If you have the issue, it's covered because your JK was made between those dates.

Hell yea, definitely not going to the dealer for this... Just got the letter today....I've been having the problem on my '07 since I bought it used back in October '12 but haven't had a chance to search for answers on the internet...then I get the letter, and did a quick search. Seems like a huge problem for a lot of owners. I have the warrior products rear corner armor, and bushwacker (painted) fender flares, so I would much rather do this myself, then let a dealership jack up my mods to fix the problem. Ordering the part now, I'll see if I can make a DIY for it. Did you manage to get it done yourself Mango?

What's the best plan of attack to get this fixed? Mine was built 12/07 and the when I noticed the problem and searched I found that they would replace it under 30k, but I was over so I have just dealt with it. Do you call Chrysler or go to the dealer? Really want to get this fixed if I can!
