overflow while fueling?
Got the new gas filler tube installed today, just took about 10 minutes.... be sure to disconnect your negative battery terminal, you will have the fuel system open, although not the pressurized side of things.
The new OEM replacement part was totally different than my old '07 part... which BTW, does not have a check valve in it... The old one is just a straight through pipe. This might explain the overfilling issues. The new part has a one way flapper valve. Not sure if this has been mentioned on the forums yet. I installed the new part with the screw clamps facing down, which I think is the proper orientation for the flapper valve to work best. Notice the old part has a little wing tab welded on the bottom of the tube, which was also facing downward I think. But that was probably just for proper alignment of the elbows etc...
I'll report back if I get any further over-flow issues on my next fill up.

Chrysler just sent me a "Warranty Extension" for the fuel tank inlet valve to "Lifetime" coverage. It goes on to say that it applies to select model year 2007-2008 Wranglers. Called my local dealer for repair info & he says to bring it in with about 3/4 tank of fuel so that "They" can top off the tank to verify that it does indeed burp back at you when full. According to them, if it does, they fix it. The only charge is that of the fuel used to top off the tank.
Haha yea I guess you would find out pretty quick! However, you can't really install it backwards in this case, just by what ends fit into what. My only concern was the rotational orientation (where the flapper hinge is, either up or down). But even that didn't turn out to be an issue either, as the tube comes pre-assembled and the elbow angles all just worked out as-is.
Stopped at my dealership to day and they ordered the part. They told me that Chrysler is restricting how many filler necks they can order. A dealership can only order one every 14 days. Well of course they ordered one yesterday so they have to wait 13 days to order mine.
