Papa needs new front driveshaft, What should i consider?

I wasn't sure when I posted earlier, but I just visited half-dozen "answer" sites to check this out. They all say the same thing: CV is another name for Double Cardan.
AFAIK the stock shaft uses a standard U-joint at both ends. If the stock shaft used a CV/Double-Cardan the pinion shaft would not be parallel with the ground from the factory.
