Agree with everything else you said, but (from 4wd web site):

Truck Master Designs’ Fully Functional Cowl Induction scoop gets your engine the cool air it needs for more power and efficiency while letting the hot air escape to keep engine compartment temperatures down. This Fully Functional Scoop has a divided internal structure to allow for cool air through the cowl, while the hot air exits through the side exhaust vents. The cool air intake directs the air through the hood to a unique under-hood duct system leading directly to the air box. The exterior of the scoop is made of easy to paint, smooth and durable high impact ABS plastic. Installation is simple with the attached 3M tape, hole location template, molded-in nutserts, and supplied stainless steel mechanical fasteners.

TMD if it comes with a 5.7L, otherwisw AEV, it blends better with the JK bodylines.

I went through this same thing last weekend.
I chose the AEV, and really love it.

I like the vents on the TMD, but like the center section on the AEV.

Im also partial to steel...
..especially when i have kids and models climbing on it
(not at the same time of course.)

I felt I could work with the AEV better on my paint scheme/graphics too.

Of course...Camp Crockers Hemi Hood is just plain amazing!
