AEV, the TMD is overkill.

I voted TMD if you have a Hemi.

Now when I Crockerize my JK (Hemi build) I will go with Camps latest hood creation

Here's a picture of the duct outlet on the passenger side right above the air box of the TMD Hood. That is truly good stuff and it just got put on the ever growing list.

Ok, that's cool and clearly functional, but how many people are running stock airboxes to use with this or would it be just as effective if you have a CAI there?

Most of the CAIs are in the stock air box location. They generally have an open front pulling air from between the fender and radiator. Not at all a difficult task to box up the front and make some sort of gasket to seal the hood duct and intake from pulling air from the engine bay.

CAI's are water-prone. Nothing like a little hydro-lock to ruin your day.

This looks like it might be somewhere between a stock intake (way better than CAIs at fending off water) and a full snorkel. At least it should help funnel in cool air at speed.

On the rocks - no advantage. Maybe even worse since the air gets plenty of time to warm up between the scoop and the intake.

So, "just as effective"? Not from a dry-condition CAI performance point of view. Probably not from a rock crawler point of view. 75 MPH down the highway? Perhaps better than the stock intake alone.

One thing is for certain - it would set you Jeep apart from the crowd!
