Stage I thoughts/ideas need a lil advice
Wanted to see what people thought of my stage I ideas. My budget is $5,000. My main issue is if/what control arms i need to get with this setup. Also, i'm on the fence with the gears choice. Knowing me, once i get into 35s, ill eventually want bigger.
My jeep is my DD and i want to do moderate off-roading, nothing crazy. I would like to, for now, avoid replacing the front driveshaft. I know thats in my future, but i want to delay it for now. Let me know what you guys think:

Even with a 2.5" lift, you will need a front DS for an automatic. You may be able to get away with it for a few months but if you off-road at all especially disco'd, you WILL rub the tranny pan, and rip the boot on the stock DS. The pan may also get damaged in the process or worse case crack the case. An aftermarket DS is much thinner than the stocker and will have way better clearance.
Also, TF lift heights are always taller than advertised.

Just FYI the tires will not measure true to a 35" tire. I have had BFG KM2's and now I have GY MTR with kevlar. Goodyear measures what they say they are (a 35 is a 35 not a 34 or 33) and these are quiet. so far these are better traction than my bfg's were. so I would consider getting those. BACKSPACING on the wheels you want to go with something that is 4.75 which is optimal... I have 4.5"bs and that is good for my 37"s. you dont have flares on the list so that is why I would suggest getting 4.75bs. AEV does state that is the best for a 35" tire on a JK.
your going to love your jeep when your done!

From what I am reading I'd put a little bit of that build money into U-joints and Ball joints

Most would swap out the lowers instead of uppers if only doing one set. The lowers will take the most abuse off-road so the beefier Aftermarket ones would be better suited and you can adjust caster with either set.
So you think front and rear lower CAs would be the way to go then?
I would def go with front lowers. The rear is up to debate for me. I went with lowers in the rear and I have zero issues with handling or pinion angle issues. Others will say go uppers in the rear. I think it may depend on 4 door vs. 2 door.
