Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
I've been seriously thinking about this as my next upgrade. I was going to do a MBRP cat back next, to compliment my CAI. However, I'm starting to think that I'd be better off getting this next and then the exhaust later. It seems like I'll see more of a gain with this than the exhaust. And then when I get the exhaust later it'll all work well together...
Hi Everyone,
I'm holding off order the Superchips product until it has the TPMS and 4-Hi lockers capability.
I'm grateful for the information shared on this forum. If you pick up the latest 4Wheel Parts magazine and read the advertisement for Superchips, you will be led to believe that these capabilities are available in the current product.
For those who have the Superchip product, I hope you will post when these capabilities become available.
Thanks
Jeff

The coolest thing about the SC is that you don't have to wait for an option to come available. Everytime a new option is ready all you have to do is plug it into your computer and download it. Your SC will never be outdated!
Thanks for the post.
I was already aware that the upgrades were via download. My only point is that I'd rather use my mod money on something else until those options become availabe.
Thanks
Jeff

Definately saw a mileage improvement on my vacation to Colorado. Drove 1620 miles in 6 days, and the worst tank (hand averaged), was 17.7. Best tank of the trip was 19.4, which surprisingly was the trip up, uphill the whole way. Had a hell of a head wind coming back down to Carlsbad, knocked it back to 18.8. Elevation in Carlsbad is 3100 ft, and in Florrisant, CO is 9600. Made it as high as 10,200 ft or so. My last trip to Cloudcroft, NM was the first weekend of the month, 280 miles total, and the average was 16.4, the highest elevation is 9300 ft there. Both trip had lots of slow dirt road driving as well as 75+mph highway. The biggest difference was weight. The short trip to Cloudcroft was just me and my golf clubs, the trip to CO was with 4 people in the Jeep, 5 days of luggage, 2 sets of clubs, and a hitch-haul rack totaling about 250 pounds. The ass-end was sqauted 2-3 inches under the weight!!!
The tranny definately shifts better, and the throttle is more responsive. It doesn't hunt for gears as it did before, and by using GPS, the speedometer and odometer are dead on now. As for power, I only used the 87Perf tune, and did not notice much, but the other features have help a good bit I'd say.

anyone try the 87 tune then try the econ mode? I am not getting any better milage on the 87 tune than stock and I have a 1200 mile trip coming up so I am debating running the econ mode for it.
I don't get any better economy either - that is not what I expect. It gives better performance and features - at the same mileage for me so it's a big winner. I have done the 87 tune and got the same MPG. I'm doing the 93 tune and seeing what it does - but it doesn't seem to give better performance than 87. I haven't used the econ programming but I will play with that and tow mode soon.
