Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
I thought about going with the flashpaq, but TPMS is an absolute necessary feature for me. I just ordered the Procal instead.
regarding power, i think superchips promises a "holy crap" factor or your money back. while i don't recall specifically saying holy crap, i've been very pleased with a noticeable increase - using the 87 tune. i don't have stats i can provide but i really feel with something like this you just need to try it.
order it, install it, and see for yourself. if you don't like it, return to stock and send it back. you are out some time, some gas, and some shipping costs, but you'll have satisfied yourself as to whether the gains are enough for you.

So do they have tire pressure adjustment or not? It is clearly advertised as a feature. I've searched the forum, I've searched the menu on flashpaq - can't find the darn thing. I've emailed superchips - no reply so far. Anybody can confirm or deny TPMS threshold adjustment in this product?
Thanks.

I installed the Superchips Flashpaq on my Unlimited 09 Rubi 6speed yesterday. I updated the flashpaq code and then installed the 87octane tune since I had almost a full tank of gas. Here's my impressions:
There is a seat of the pants feel and change in the sound of the motor. I suspect the mapping for the way the electronic drive by wire throttle opens is changed and made more agressive because of the added intake noise you get when going WOT. On the downside, it pings, a lot. With the cruise on at 65 on level ground, any slight rise in elevation requiring more throttle got it pinging and rattling good. Same with acceleration from a stop. When it got down to a 1/4 tank off full, I added 6 gallons of 93 Octane Chevron and that stopped the pinging. Test conditions were 100plus degrees, so maybe that was a factor. Also, slow speed drivability like cruising a parking lot in first or second gear is much worse. The throttle open right off idle is very abrupt, same when you lift off the gas and the throttle closes. You get a jerk city ride with the 6 speed. MPG around town seems worse by about 1-2mpg. MPG at steady 65mph is about the same, to maybe a few tenths worse.
Since it is giving the engine more air, and advancing timing over the stock map, results might be a lot better in cooler climates. When I finish this tank, I'm going to try the 91 tune, and then the 93 and see how that does.

This isn't a problem I encountered and I don't think I would try to correct it with octane out of the gate. Just too much that will be handled by the PCM and I wouldn't want to retard the process by home brewing a mixture of octanes.
Just another quick ?... I read on other threads with other programmers that a person was able to upgrade an 07 but a person with an 08 couldnt.. have you heard any problems like this for flashpaq?
