Yes, the Superchips Flashpaq will record your stock settings. Not just so you can return to stock but also if a problem arises Superchips can view the footprint of your vehicle. As mentioned before, I had a mismatch in what gear was present from the factory and what the Flashpaq believed was there. It initially caused my speedometer to fail but it was dealt with in a single work day and the fix was posted to their update site.

The Mileage XS setting is there as well. I have ran it on my truck over the winter and it did pretty well. For my Dodge Ram the stock Octane rating is 89 and the Mileage XS allows you to use 87. Even with the Mileage XS setting, there is more power than stock on my truck. I would believe the same will be true for the JK, although I have yet to try it. While the Mileage XS does give you slightly better gas mileage than stock on my Ram I get the best mileage at the premium setting (91 Octane). The 93 Octane setting for the Ram is due out shortly.

Well, those V60s with a Superchip now crank out at about the level of a Honda Accord. It's still not a race car, but quicker with more power. I also looked up what the 0-60 speed is for a stock JK and it was 10 flat. With my mods and the stock setting I pulled a 9.8 and with the Superchips a 9.1. I think it could do better, but I had to ask myself what the hell am I doing racing around Jeep.

The stock rev limiter kicks in somewhere about 6,000 rpms. I don't see any advantage of cranking more than 5400 rpms and if I had an automatic I would set the WOT shift points around 5200 for a 1-2 shift and 4800 for a 2-3 shift. The higher rpm range is really soft and from my very limited experience with the Superchips, where you see the big gains is with lower end torque. Remember, Torque is the hammer to get you moving and horsepower is kind of like the come along at higher rpms.

I also believe the low end torque is where the Superchips shines. It's why dynos don't necessarily tell the whole story as the marketing claims they make are focused on high rpm HP gains. I'm sure the really fat paortion of Superchips gains come under 3,000 RPM and that's exactly where you want them. Sure it will crank better at 4,000 RPMs but most of my driving and I'm sure most of everyone else comes in that 1500-3500 range.

Jpop

Have you had time over the weekend to look & test these items?

• Low throttle response crawling tune
• 4-HI locking axle control
• Transfer case gear change correction

Interested for my Sahara.

Thanks,

Mike

Wife bolted with the Jeep and is going to see the Cavaliers and Lebron. Something is totally wrong with this picture.

Anyway, I'll try to look for the low throttle response for crawling. I didn't see it, but doesn't mean it isn't there.

I haven't done anything to my transfer case in terms of gears so I didn't have need to change anything. It's definitely there and adjustable from 1:1 to 10:1. Maybe an Atlas is in my future.

The 4HI locking axle control has me a bit confused. It's there but it says my vehicle doesn't support this option. I have the same LSD option as you and I'm humble enough to admit that I don't know if or how it should work with my factory hardware. Definitely looking for some input on that one as I don't know if it's something to make a support case about or if it just isn't going to work for me.

um I believe the 4HI axle locking feature is only for the rubi, the LSD isnt a locker.

Thanks for the update and clarification.

Looking at their site it seems like they have cleaned up some stuff on the feature set.

The shift points are not dynamically adjustable at part throttle but able to be set for WOT. Other automatic transmission settings have been optimized.

That isn't in my wheelhouse with a 6 speed, but I was waiting for some of these auto trans items on my truck. I guess the wait continues.

LSD=positraction on Chevies etc. Plus we also have the electronic control using the brakes.

I wouldn't mind getting the right locker for the front and leaving the rears alone.

Yeah, the optional Trac lok limited slip diff is not the same as the tru-lok locking diffs on the Rubicons. There's no way that a programmer could have any effect on a clutch pack type LS differential like the trac lok.

Btw, my '08 Silverado came from the factory with an Eaton locker. Its a gear driven electronic locker. It engages when a 100 RPM difference between the two wheels is sensed.

I will have to see if this works on an X with the rear locker when I scrape up the money for this. I am cheap, and will probably run it on the 89 setting, gas prices are high here in the Northwest.

Thank you for all of the information Jpop,

I have been looking at this, and am waiting on some information from people with the auto who pick this up. I would like to be able to run my rubi with 33" tires and have enough power to get around. Low end is where I want it, so I am even more interested in the product after reading your reviews.
