Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
just wondering, some people seem to have issues with pinging, speedometer not working, and stalling, but most people just blow all this stuff off like nothing.
to buy this product and see gains will I have to run 93 octane? with said 93 octane, will pinging occur?
are there numbers for the different configurations of performance? such as 87 octane see's this much gain, 90 = this, 93= this (probably the figures advertised).
it sounds like a great product, but one of the things I loved about my old 4.0 was that if I could have found an 83 octane it'd have probably run off it, and don't look forward to paying for 93 octane fuel, expecially when mileage isn't fantastic anyways and if the price of fuel goe up i'll pretty much go bankrupt on fuel cost alone. what say you?

I think the issues that people have been having are related to the fact that there are more than a few factory software revisions. Chrysler isn't just going to hand all of those over to Superchips. I believe each time someone has encountered an issue the superchips engineers get a copy of the their factory image and create a new version and add it to their database so that the next folks won't have an issue.
Just got mine up and running. Updated online and all. For some reason, my tune options don't include "Performance 87", only "87 Octane" - which I understand is not a performance setting. Any ideas? (It's Sunday, so didn't try to call Superchips yet).
The 87 Octane setting is a performance setting.
That's what I've been running for a while and like it a lot.
Just switched to the towing tune for a little more low end torque, pretty cool as well.

The crawl on superchips isn't out yet they want to do more testing to make sure that it doesn't cause any problems that is what Ron said when I called about it not allowing me to lock her up in 4 hi
