Sweet!

Yeah I did a little googlin' on the Toyo 285/75/R17's and they do look pretty small. By calculation, that measures out to like 33.8" but Toyo quotes them at 34.1" Still.....they look closer to 33's. I just called my local tire shop and they're quoting the 35x12.5R17 Toto Open Country MTR's at only $10 more per tire than the 315/70 Duratracs. Hmmmmm, decisions decisions....

You won't get as much mileage out of an MT, but MUCH better for wheeling. More aggressive tread and sidewall. Most AT have 2-3 ply sidewall. Some MT have 10 ply. If going with an MT, checkout the Goodyear MTR Kevlar. It's the ultimate wheeling tire!

Dude at 4wheel parts told me that on the jeeps you will probably get the same mileage out of an M/T as an A/T because jeeps arent all that heavy?

That doesn't sound correct. It would depend on the specific tire, but I've heard that MT have 30 - 40% less tread life.

For example:
BFG AT - Average mileage is 55 - 60K miles
BFG MT - Average mileage is 35 - 40K miles

As mentioned, it would depend on which tire you're comparing. I've read the GY Duratrac gets around 40 - 45K miles. So if you compare a duratrac to a BFG MT, it's not much different, only 5K miles.

While we're talking about mileage, if you get a 5th tire and do a 5 tire rotation, they will last longer.

I'd also like to add: Statistics lie, and only a liar uses statistcs...
