teraflex 2.5: BB or spring?
Ok, narrowing down my lift choices. I Have a 07 2 door Rubi with auto. Not really looking to add anything else, just want to buy the kit, and have it be "right" from the start. By the way, there will be new wheels 4.5 bs - 4.75 bs (max), and new tires probably 33 x 11's, maybe 34's.
Now, I feel that both the BB and the spring lift will get the job done, but want to know what the pros and cons are. Also just for reference, I probably will not be adding bumpers and a winch. (maybe in the future though)
any thoughts?

I just put a 2.5" Teraflex coil spring lift on my four door Rubicon. I know that with the stock suspension that the Jeep would bottom out real easily when off road. All it took was one little rain rut, or washout, and the Jeep would blow through its suspension travel like it wasn't even there, and BAM, bottom out the suspension. You really had to slow down for bumps off road, and it had too much bounce and sway with the really soft OEM springs and shocks.
With the 2.5" coil spring lift I also have 2.5" extended bump stops, so up travel is the same as stock. But even with the same suspension up travel, the suspension works better than stock. I rarely, if ever, bottom out the suspension, and the suspension is a whole lot more controlled. I still dont drive fast when off road, but with the coil spring upgrade at least I can drive at what I consider a normal speed.
So if you want a suspension that works better than stock, get the coil spring lift. If you're happy with stock, and just want it to be 2" taller, then get the budget boost.

If you're getting accesories that will add weight (bumpers, winch), I'd go with the coil. I have the BB and it's working fine for me.
Learned the hard way that spacers are needed with stock wheels (at least with the 18" sahara's).

However, on the BB you get the rear spring spacer that also acts as a coil spring retainer. What holds the springs in place on the coil lift? (I know they won't just fall out, but you know what I mean)
Also, with a 2 door automatic, is 3.1" front, and 2.1" rear pushing it for driveshafts, etc. Reading here and other places, 3" seems to be the magic number for needing quite a bit more parts to get it dialed in, and that is just way too much $$$
Now I was thinking of getting front and rear adjustable track bars for either lift so I can center the axles. (right now I have a 1-3/4"BB, and the axles did shift left/right. not much, but enought where it is noticable)
Would the caster, etc. be Ok with these kits? I know this is a lot of questions, and they all have been answered before, but it can get overwhelming. Just looking for straight ahead real world experience answers.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated

I used the Teraflex monster forged adjustable front trackbar with my 2.5" coil spring lift. I like it because it is stronger than stock, and lets you perfectly center the front axle. I used the Teraflex adjustable rear trackbar bracket that relocates the stock rear trackbar. I like this bracket because it actually reinforces and strengthens the stock bracket, not just bolting on to the stock bracket, and adding leverage to an already marginal bracket. I plan on adding the Teraflex monster forged adjustable rear trackbar at some point, just because I want things done right. It isn't really needed though. The Jeep drives great. Two days ago I had to do a 500 mile road trip on the day that had the worst snow storm our state has seen in decades. I drove 400 miles in 4-wheel drive, and the Jeep still drove great. Other than the 2 1/2 hours spent in a traffic jam waiting for the freeway to re-open over a mountain pass it was a nice day.

It depends on how much off roading you do. If you do alot of offroading your best bet is the coil lift, if not i would do the BB. The only thing to watch for is sometimes the BB knocks the geometry of the suspension off and I've heard of somepeople having a worse ride with BB.
