Default no light yet

I put my wheels and tires on 2 weeks ago and loaded the stock wheels/tires in my wifes suv and put them in storage about 5 miles away from our house. I went home, drove the Jeep, and had no light. Been about 2 weeks now and still no light. I don't drive it every day but at least 3-4 times a week.

I will keep you all updated if my light stay

s off.

I was excited to hear I would have tpms on my 08. Then I realized it was just an idiot light. I thought it would tell me the actual pressure in each tire. Possibly changing from green to yellow to red as the pressure dropped ( or was too high ).

I figured that, at least in the Wrangler, they would have it tell you the actual pressure being that many Wrangler owners change tires, use lower and higher pressures than stock, and air down for some offroading situations.

it's a start.
My 02 vette tells press. in each tire. They are all a PIA though. I would rather check my own pressures than to have these lights and bells going off all the time. Once again Americans are paying for someone else's carelessness.
Thank's to the lawyers.

how do you read the codes remotely? my dealer told me the same thing that i needed to know the id num of each sensor and since they are already installed in my new wheels, that kinda sucks.

When they reflash the Jeep's TPMS using their diagnostic computer, mine was done at a dodge dealer, there is a menu that allows you to see the IDs on the new sensors. Accept those new sensors and it is set. The dealer on my Jeep was surprised to see that the codes do come up on the computer. No issues since. I don't remember what menu it is in on their computer but I could call the tech as he has been pretty happy with the found functionality.

I got the same speech from my dealer- he needs the codes off of the new sensors. I'm going to try other dealers to see if they can read the sensors without physically taking them out of the tires. So far the tpms system has been more trouble than it's worth!

did you ever actually check the pressure in the tires with an acurate gauge? i just had a truck w the light on after swapping new sensors into new wheels and found one tire to be low. the light went off assoon as i put air in it and drove it 500' down the driveway.

Couldn't hurt to check. I'll take a look, but it could also be that their is a difference in operating pressure between my stock 28" tires and the 35's I have on there now. I'll have to check that too.

I bet you could just throw your stockies in the back of the jeep and take it for a drive. I doubt the Jeep knows if the tires are mounted or not.
