Thanks, I'm gonna get ahold of David here when they open. As for the break in period I followed the one on Randy's Ring and Pinion web site. I did the exactly how it tells you for the fact that I did not want this to happen. Oh well

That was going to be my question too.

David would have you your answer back, and what your options/next course of action would be probably in far shorter time that it will take you to read through the responses of this thread once he gets in the shop to respond to the question.

Another thing that can be questioned is proper break-in. It may just come down to the manufacturer's interest in maintaining customer satisfaction.

How many miles did you log in 4WD on the gears?

As far as I know it shouldn't matter how many miles are logged in 4WD. The front ring and pinion spins at the same speed as the rear. The only difference would be amount of load and lets face it, 500 miles in 4WD would be hard to do for most of us.

is it safe to say that you're running a dana 30 up front? if so, 5.13's is a high ratio for it and if you're running big tires, breakage is definitely something that possible. hell, i blew out my 5.38's in my rear dana 44 in about a months. pretty much the same thing when it comes to size/strength and, i expected as much.

I need some pictures of these gears so I can help you determine if it is a gear problem or a install problem. If the gear failed we will get you a new one!

Well like I said I followed the break in period from Randy's R&P and I have alittle more than 2500 miles on them. The rear is doing fine. I am running 35's with the Dana30.

David, I will get you a picture soon. It's been hectic at work today so I'm running behind.

So is it not wise to run 5.38's in a Dana 44? Was advised to go that way.... but with your post I may want to reconsider.

Currently running 37's w/ the 4:10's and was looking to regear. Told 5:38's was the way to go for the current setup.... and figured it will work for future 40's?

Did you have any symptoms of improperly installed gears? Any whines vibs or chirps or anything? Could help deduce what happened.
