having a 2012 jku getting some protection under my rig is def on the top of my list. hopefully my lift can help me avoid some trail damage in the meantime

but when it is time to plug the trigger id say I'm going with the evo skids for no other reason than i have seen them work

Either way, they are both comparable in price and they both look like good stuff. They basically protect the same areas, they just go about it two different ways with their mounting.

Being in SoCal, I'm partial to buying local and absolutely love everything EVO does but, I will probably be buying the RROR oil pan/tranny skid...still have a couple weeks till I purchase so I may change my mind...just like with everything else

Not only do they work.

The skids are high clearance, You wont be dragging these over rocks. They will not hold the heat in either.

Honestly, the only thing putting me off from buying the EVO skids is that I have the AFE Y-Pipe...I eventually plan to buy a J.E. Reel 1310 front DS but, that won't be for a while...

i have an '08, so my skids would be different i do believe, but im very happy with my rror skids. i have the oil and tranny skid only, i didnt think that the gas tank skid was necessary at all (ill prob go with the transfer skid at some point). im sure the evo skids are fantastic, but i cant say anything about them personally as i have never even seen any. i will say i personally dont like the skids that use the oil pan bolts as if / when the skid needs to be dropped thats one more thing to deal with, but again no personal experience, just speculation.

ive heard a million times they "are not necessary" but i dont care. its good to know they are down there if / when i screw up and put the vehicle directly on top of a big rock like i did my last offroading trip. i figure a good skid system is good cheap insurance versus having to change out a transmission because i knocked a hole in the side.

And here you are crawling to the mall.....right before that pointy rock stopped you. If you weren't so hard headed, you could have had a full skid plate system to get hung up on when will you ever learn?
