Default What Size Wheel?

Planning on the 33" Nitto Trail Grapplers but I'm trying to figure out what size wheel to stuff inside them. 17", 18" or 20"??? Since the overall diameter will be 33" what are the differences? Less stress on the sidewall with a larger wheel? Rougher ride with larger wheel? Daily driver but I want it to look good in the woods and on the dunes! Any facts/opinion would be greatly appreciated!!!

The smaller the rim, the better.

Go with a 16"

I'n my opinion, 20 is too big for 33s, I'd say 18 max 16 min, so I'd say go halfway and get 17's

These are my buddies trucks, just to give you an idea, the black truck has 16 inch rims with 33's and the white truck has 17inch rims with 32.5's

if you are open to all suggestion then i suggest 15". there are several thread about it. i lot of hard corp off road people have them, but on top of that it is a very common size in most off road tires, tire companies seem (at least to me) to keep them on stock for most off road tires, and best of all can seve around $100 plus a tire. i would suggest at least researching it before pulling the trigger. its pretty nerv racking becasue most people say they wont fit without grinding break callipers, but not true. its what i have (MB72's from discount tire direct) i called discout tire direct and explained i read a thread by one of thier people and they said if they did not fit i could ship them back. i got them and they bolted right on no problem. also if you buy your tires through them (i dont know if they carry what you want) they said they would mount and balance for free so it is a straight bolt on at home job. of course they did not have they MTZ's i wanted so i could not take advantage, but you cant win everytime.

good luck with your search and sorry for all the mis spelling/poor puncuation, i am on a lunch break

go with a 17 my opinion 15 to small 20 way to big so i agree 17 is the way to go and price of tires is that big a diffrence and tire shops carry a large variety of tires not to many vehicles (trucks anyway) come with a 15 that i know of anymore

16s all the way.........the smaller the rim the more the tire has to wrap around and grab an obstacle.

Besides they're cheaper and they look better on big meats......imho...

I have 15 with 33s, I would never go back. My last wheel tire combo was the same tire on a 16. The 15 is much cheaper, and nicer ride off road. And about the same stabilaity on road. I drive mine on the highway everyday.
