I have them on my JKU for 5 years now. Even after I bought beadlocks with 4.750 backspacing I still use them for a wider stance. Never one issue. 70k miles

People like to jump to conclusions on how all the shops want to sell something but shops wont touch them because of the safety issue. Real simple, they don't want to get sued if you end up having an issue because you didn't check and recheck the bolts. Granted a lot of people run them with no issue, however, some people have problems with the wheel coming off as they drive down the road thus the safety concern. It is rare but happens.
Recently someone in a JK posted, I think on this forum, how they got lucky where the wheel came off but when the axle fell the brake trapped the rim and he was able to pull off the road. What happened is the brake was dug into the inside metal of the rim and held just long enough for him to stop.
Understanding that many people run them with no issue I wont because I am the type to worry about it while I drive down the HWY. I love the stock rims but will be buying something else for this reason. Do some searching on the various JK forums including this one and you will find pics of jeeps without wheels on the side of the HWY because they were running spacers.

Yes I recall that one on this forum. He even admited he made a install mistake. Everyonei read about the installer messed it up.Don't hate on spacers because of someones ignorance. If you know whet your doing, install AND maintain them properly they will deliver years and miles of worry free service.

I know many more besides me who run them with no issue. Once again 70k plus miles on my spacers....... and I wheel my jeep. Every damn weekend.

As far as shops go I have a buddy who is the manager for discount tire in vegas. He runs them. His company has decided they don't want the libility. Because......... how many of you check your lug nuts after 100 miles? And to expect someone to remove their wheels and check the spacer nuts.. right. So that's why they don't do them.

I've been using Rough Country's wheel spacers for several thousand miles now.

I torqued down, and have been good.

I run them with stock wheels and tires because I like the stance and when I choose bigger tires someday, my stock wheels I can keep.

You should get you a set. I have also noticed my handling seems better since my wheel base is widened.

So but that sounds more like a wrong install or lugs not tightened down enough.

Discount gave me shit for spacers. Make sure you torque properly and use locktite. I carry my wife and 2 boys on wheeling trips have haven't worried a bit. Spacers have come a long way.

Like someone else said I think most tire shops want to sale you wheels

I've got 40k+ on my Spidertrax and have had zero problems whatsoever. As everyone else has mentioned just check the torque when you rotate. My local Discount Tire is ok with hub centric spacers but I've seen on here that their official stance is 'no go' due to liability reasons.
