Wheel Spacers - I need a no BS answer and help...
I have yet to read about a single situation where a Spidertrax spacer spontaneously failed. I've read a few reports of people forgetting to take the clips off the factory studs. Hell, I even remember a failure due to a guy's girlfriend putting the nut on tapered-side out. User error...that's what it comes down to. If you aren't comfortable enough with your Jeep to know whether you can properly install and maintain spacers then don't run them. It's really that simple. A year or so ago a member on here (I think he was an aeronautical engineer) did a full metallurgical analysis of Spidertrax spacers. The results were clear, the spacers were far stronger in every aspect than factory wheels.
In my humble opinion, regardless of whether you are running spacers, you shouldn't really be using a gun on your lugs.

I say they have worked for many people and have failed for people also like another member had stated the more you change the more problems or possible problems you could face but I also agree that spacers are the duck tap fix to good set of wheels there is a risk with them and to me it's not worth it plus u can buy a wheel that looks just like factory with proper backspacing on tirerack seams like the possible risk and added stress to parts is more expensive then to just get wheels and then it looks like you own jeep
It just seems like the Tire Shops want me to flat out buy new rims from them and that's why they are so adamant about it. I wouldn't worry so much if it was just me... but my kids love to ride in the Jeep and we hit the trails and mud pretty hard. Like I said... it's a daily driver so rock climbing ain't gonna happen. I really don't think I'll go any larger than 35" tires anyway.

I am not the most "mechanically" friendly guy in the world so as far as.checking and torquing down the bolts (sic) I'm sure I could figure it out, but I think at this point I'll hold out for wheels with better backspacing. I learn as I go and just hope I don't make any serious.mistakes. my ipad is usually right next to me while I am working on it...
I am new(er) to Jeeping and at the end of the day want to have fun without risking serious injury. I appreciate everyones answers and feedback.

I have had mine for about a year now and it's aloe of maintenance as every oil change I rotate my tires and re locktite my spacers. When I upgrade in a few weeks to 60s I will purchase the right rims to avoid ever using spacers again. To sum up it's slot of extra maintenance but I have never had an issue with them.
Edit just seen your last post. I think you went the right way. It's also less damaging on your ball joints, apparently.
