FYI for the new guys, we've talked briefly about some sort of little get-together for us CT guys (and gals?) sometime this summer. As of right now, the when/where/what/how is unknown. If you know of any good spots in-state for wheelin', please share.

THREE DAYS TO GO.................

 

Sorry about that I was in a rush at work. But here is the story of my st. patty's day.

I am heading to a friends house at about midnight, perfectly sobber and driving calm as could be because there are 450 million cops on the roads. I am in 5th gear and all of a sudden it slips out of 5th. I think, strange, but put it in 6th and don't think about it again.

Come to a stop sign, put her in first. Start going and WHAM! slams me out of first, the neck rip back and all, I hear a horn blowing look to my left and a car is coming towards me and I have no first gear. Thankfully the person was going slow enough they went around and only gave me a nice finger gesture. I put it in second and pull to the side. Call the 24 hour towing service. 10 minutes later my cell phone rings, it's Chrysler calls me back. They can not find a wrecker that will pick me up. I am pissed but say w/e and drive home. Also find out 3rd is missing also on the way. Call them again during normal hours Sunday about 11 am. Same thing! They will not find a wrecker that will come and get me and say call back Monday morning and we will be able to find one.

Now I am pissed. I paid for 24 hour service and am getting god damn bankers hours. Needless to say though I did call this morning. The wrecker was here with in 2 hours and the jeep was at the dealer ship. Turns out the boot was installed wrong from the factory and with the temperature changes it popped loose last week and blocked the top gears. No harm done, Fixed for free. Dealer gave me a few free oil changes and a sweat shirt, I filed a claim with Chrysler corp. and I expect a few mopar bucks out of it.

If it ever happens again I will be talking to a lawyer until then I will try not to break down in the north end of Hartford.

Hell I would have been snooping around in their lot last night looking to see if it was there someplace...To be quite honest I did just that very thing looking for mine---2:am I went there as soon as I got out of work, in a frozen rain storm no less. The very last place I searched on the lot is where I came upon my Rubi. I was never so thrilled to stand around getting soaked.
