Lol... so I'll have to get an airbag setup... while the cop is fishing around his trunk for a measure, I can deflate the bags!

The restriction is calculated from a Stock Vehicle with the largest Tires Available stock. Went through this already with a friends Super Duty. The cop will write the 5 day tag.. you have to go to a state inspection station to fight it.

Check out the full CMR to be on the safe side.

(3) The wheel track may be increased by the use of tires and rims for a maximum total increase of four inches beyond the original manufacturer's specification. The use of spacers to increase the wheel track is prohibited. Fractions shall be excluded in all measurements and final calculations.

You can find it here

yankeetoys.org/Documents/CMR6.rtf

But as stated before it probably all depends on who pulls you over, how much they really know about the lifting guidelines, and if they had their jelly donut yet.

The problem in mass is that you can't have your vehicle more than a certain height off of the ground. I was told that if I had a four inch lift with 33's I would be over the legal height. However, if I had to get it inspected, all I have to do is stick stock size tires on and it would pass.

From me previous vehicles I never had a problem with inspections and height. I've built trucks on air ride and lifted vehicles and never had a problem 1 bit.

Oh, I know he will. I'm just trying to put it into perspective as to what is legal and what is not.

Here's one for ya:

What's teh MA law on bumpers??? Do they need to be full-width, or are stubbies allowed???

I read somewhere that in MA you must have full-width bumpers, but I haven't found the accompanying law to back that up yet

Can't prove anything, but last year, all I could find was height requirements. Don't remember what they were, but I was comfortable ordering a stubby.

I've heard that too but I have a stubby and the cop said absolutely nothing about it. He said he really liked the look of it.
