We went on our own last year and had the whole trail to ourselves. It was great!
Well if you do decide, I think you will enjoy it and all that the Jamboree has to offer.
Let me know- for sure- I think it would be fun to meet up or even go in as a group

I know we took an easier line when it was possible, but honestly there wasn't many of those opportunities

Personally, I thought it was a pretty wicked trail

Eddie are you going?

Come on Eddie,
You missed the compliment I was making to the Jamboree. They do a wonderful job. And they also improve the trail.
Yes the snow changes the trail every year - some parts are easier, some more difficult. And I have personnaly noticed the difference between before and after the "grooming".
Meet me up there on Memorial day and see for yourself!!

I plan on going. I think I'll do the 4 day. Liz, a month ago you weren't going, now I detect a strong "maybe". I'm going to plan on seeing you and Sean again this year. You should try the 4 day so you can kick back an extra day and explore the Springs. You too, Chip. Hopefully, this year, we wont have the smoke from the fires and you'll get to see the view from Vista Pt (Observation) on your way out.
If anyone has specific questions about Jeepers Jamboree post them here or PM me and I'll do my best to answer them. Doing the trail on your own or with friends is a lot of fun, but everyone should try the Jamboree once. (Of course I'd say that.)

Prior to that though and it doesn't seem like the same trail
Jeepers Jamboree has maintained the Trail for years. Our main focus is working on the parts of the trail that would "disappear" if no maintenance were done. The area around Buck Island, Cadillac Hill, and a few other areas need to be worked on every year or the trail would become impassable. In recent years, an organization called Friends of the Rubicon (FOTR) which is a coalition of volunteers, has also started helping also. If anyone would like to know how much effort is put into keeping the Rubicon Trail open, http://www.rubicontrail.org is a great place to start.

I am going to make it my mission to go one way or another.
It is just too fun to miss

You should go JeeperDude... to see what the Jamboree is like and compare the trail difference if any from Memorial day
